Any person who wishes to provide public testimony for an item on the agenda is requested
to notify the Commission Liaison before the Public Testimony portion of the meeting. You
may submit your public comment to the Public Arts Commission electronically by
forwarding materials to jay.virata@palmspringsca.gov. Transmittal by 5:00 PM before the
start of the meeting will help ensure that your correspondence is fully considered. Any
correspondence received after 5:00 PM will be distributed to the Public Arts Commission
and retained for the official record.

E. PUBLIC COMMENTS: This time has been set aside for members of the public to
address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the subject
matter jurisdiction of the Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public
cannot be present later in the meeting at the time the item is heard by the
Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on
each item listed on the posted agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the
Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it

generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Three
(3) minutes are assigned for each speaker.

1. Nominations and remarks for Chair and Vice Chair.

H. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 5, 2025
I. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION/APPROVAL:
1. Discuss Little Tuscany Neighborhood Organization request to place Public Art
in the Little Tuscany Neighborhood.
2. Discuss and consider approval of artwork reimbursement request in the amount of
$6,500 from Royal Palm Hotel for the artwork entitled LowDes Ranch Rocks by artists
Frank and Hank located at 1700 Palm Canyon Drive.
3. Discuss and Approve renaming the Public Arts Collection to Palm Springs Art and
Culture Collection and establishing subcommittees: 1) Subcommittee 1 – Pieces
currently in the Public Art Collection that should be moved to potential Cultural
Collection; and 2) Subcommittee 2 – Write up the consideration and approval process
for new pieces to be considered.

ADJOURNMENT: The Public Arts Commission will adjourn to a meeting on September 4,
2025, at 5:30 P.M. in the Council Chambers of Palm Springs City Hall located at 3200 E.
Tahquitz Canyon Way.
