PUBLIC COMMENTS: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public cannot be present later in the meeting at the time the item is heard by the Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on each item listed on the posted agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Discuss and approve a budget of $9,000 for the purchase and relocation of the Altanviro and Loper Sculptures by artist Christopher Myers ($1,500 each) currently located on the East Tahquitz Canyon median art pads. (Chair Pritchard) 2. Discuss and approve a budget of $43,500 for a one-year installation, from July 1, 2023 to June 30th, 2024, of the artwork "The only other thing is Nothing" BY MIDABI, aka Michael Bernberg to be installed at the Downtown Park, "Art Park" section, located at the southeast corner of Museum Drive and Museum Way. (Chair Pritchard) 3. Discuss and approve a budget of $25,000 for Juneteenth celebrations, June 17th, 2023. (Vice Chair Armstrong) 4. Discuss and approve a budget of $650. for a new plaque for WOW installation, now relocated to North Palm Canyon. (Chair Pritchard) 5. Demuth Community Center site visit regarding mural placement. REPORT FROM DIRECTOR/STAFF: ADJOURNMENT: The Public Arts Commission will adjourn to a special meeting on May 3, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room of Palm Springs City Hall located at 3200 E. Tahqutiz Canyon Way. It is the intention of the City of Palm Springs to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all respects. If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, or in meetings on a regular basis, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the City will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner.
