PUBLIC COMMENTS: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public cannot be present later in the meeting at the time the item is heard by the Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on each item listed on the posted agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. REMARKS FROM THE VICE CHAIR: G. ITEMS FOR DISCUSSION/APPROVAL: 1. Consider funding in the amount of $100,000 in Public Arts Funds to refabricate the Richard Wyatt Mural using tile as a medium at the James O. Jesse Unity Center and request the City of Palm Springs provide the balance of approximately $200,000 to fund this project. 2. Select a design proposal from artist Kat Trevino for the Acrisure Arena Mural Project. 3. Proposal for a one-year installation of "the only other thing is nothing" art piece by artist Michael Birnberg, known as Midabi. Budget: $25,000; time-period January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023 4. Proposal to purchase "Temple" art installation by artist Ryan Campbell. Budget $65,000 final design to be approved at Public Arts Commission October 19, 2022, meeting. Installation location at west end of Museum Way. 5. Vote on location for Asphalt Art test pilot project. Proposed location James O Jessie Center, street entrance at 480 West Tramview Way. Alternative location at Arenas, intersection of Arenas and Encilia. 6. Vote on location for "Popsicles" proposed location, Victoria Park. 7. Vote on Demuth Park locations for Clement art pieces (Butch, Ithiel, and Squeeze) H. PROJECT UPDATES: 1. Art walk / guide virtual mapping project (Newkirk) 2. Tahquitz art pads (Armstrong, Lesniak) 3. Continuation and expansion of Utility Box project. Approx. $18,700 remaining in approved budget, $500 per box (Faveau, Lesniak) 4.
