FO IL Melanie Brenner Russell Pritchard Mara Gladstone Ann Sheffer, Chair Tracy Merrigan Thomas Yanni, Vice -Chair Alfonso Murray CALL TO ORDER: ROLL CALL: ACCEPTANCE OF AGENDA: PUBLIC COMMENTS: This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Public Arts Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public cannot be present later in the meeting at the time the item is heard by the Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on each item listed on the posted Agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Five (5) minutes assigned for each speaker. APPROVAL OF MINUTES RECOMMENDATION: Approve Public Arts Commission Minutes for the meetings held on October 25, 2018, November 8, 2018, December 13, 2018, and January 24. 2019, A. REPORT FROM THE CHAIR B. PRESENTATIONS 1. Preliminary plans for a mural of the wall of the Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs presented by Margaret Keung, Executive Director C. DISCUSSION 1. Submission of proposed list of maintenance/restoration needs for public artworks to City for bidding Public Arts Commission Meeting Agenda -- February 14, 2019 Page 2 D. ACTION ITEMS: 1. Approve third amendment to Agreement for Purchase and Sale of Public Art with Eastern Lion, LLC, to no longer include installation. Payment to be $8,000 upon delivery (as verified by Commissioner Pritchard) for a total contract of $13,000 ($5,000 previously paid). 2. Approve up to $1,500 for outdoor signage and $1,500 for large scale window stickers for Modernism Week activities. 3. Approve up to $2,500 for storage, transportation, and display of City Felt Art Map at various events throughout the City. 4. Approve proposal by Delos Van Earl for restoration of Frank Bogert statue in front of City Hall for $6,000. 5. Approve payment of mural application fees for Boys and Girls Club of Palm Springs up to $1,500 when application is filed. 6. Approve refund of mural fees paid by St. Paul's Church for "Cast Your Bread Upon the Water" by Bernard Hoyes. COMMISSIONER COMMENTSIREPORTSIREQUESTS: REPORTS OF DIRECTOR/STAFF: ADJOURNMENT: The Public Arts Commission will adjourn to a Regular Meeting, at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday March 14, 2019, in the Large Conference Room, Palm Springs City Hall, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262. It is the intention of the City of Palm Springs to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in all respects. If, as an attendee or a participant at this meeting, or in meetings on a regular basis, you will need special assistance beyond what is normally provided, the City will attempt to accommodate you in every reasonable manner.
