Support temporary courts completion before closing DeMuth. Canadians sick of Trump will surely go elsewhere if there are no alternate courts. Dear Mayor and Council - Please remove tonight’s Item J (“temporary” pickleball courts at Baristo and Hermosa) from the Consent Calendar to provide opportunity for public comment. This agreement for pickleball courts in a residential neighborhood has not been well noticed. Terms of the agreement and use of the facility are unknown to area residents. Many questions need to be answered - - while there will be no lights, at what time will the courts open to the public? Play before 8am will be a problem. All City residents deserve quiet and undisturbed sleep. - are the courts subject to the City’s Noise Ordinance? - will access to the courts be closed at nightfall by a City employee? - what parking restrictions will be put in place to ensure local access and pedestrian safety? This is a prime route for PS High School students. Please provide your affected residents the opportunity to comment before this item is adopted. My home at the Vue backs onto that lot. The sound from these courts will be very disruptive to our lovely quiet neighborhood. They're are 3 developments in direct proximity to the proposed courts. Vue, Enclave and @48 Baristo. While I support community fitness I don't believe the proposed location is appropriate. I am not familiar with local sound ordinances but I suspect the noise generated will exceed neighborhood limits. Thank you for you consideration and support for keeping our neighborhood quiet. I live at VUE Palm Springs and these courts are right in my front yard. These courts will adversely affect my home value, and the enjoyment of my home. My concerns are related to the following issues: 1. Noise from the paddles and yelling and screaming from players. 2. Lights at night (will affect my bedroom and my living spaces) 3. What are the hours and who will enforce that? 4. Parking 5. Garbage 6. Since this is supposed to be “temporary”, how long will this go on and how would we know that the courts would not remain indefinitely? Please vote no for the creation of these courts that will create noise and light issues as well as parking and other concerns for the neighbors of this property. Hello, I’m writing to express my support for the agreement with DCC that will provide a place for the pickleball community to play during the construction of the new court complex at Demuth Park. I also want to express my appreciation to staff for their hard work in finding this property and negotiating what appears to be a very fair agreement for both the. It’s and the College.
