To whom it may concern: As neighbors we are pleased to see that there is active discussion around the preservation of the Avery Field Cabin conservation during and after the proposed new home construction nearby. Closely intertwined with the Avery Field Cabin is the short scenic trail connecting Santa Rosa Street to Ramon Road along the Baristo wash. Passing by the cabin it allows for hikers to enjoy beautiful views of the ruins in their natural setting while providing a scenic connection between different parts of the Historic Tennis Club neighborhood to the Lykken trailhead. Reading the pre-meeting materials, it appears that the developer plans to close this trail, which has existed for many years if not decades. We believe this would be a significant loss for the community and encourage the Board to consider guidance to preserve access to the trail. Thank you for your consideration Malte Schutz & Kermit Berg 594 Camino Calidad Palm Springs 5/5/25, 3:56 PM Fw: Public comment for May 6 HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING New Business agenda item B - Linda Ponce - … about:blank?windowId=SecondaryReadingPane3 1/1
