PUBLIC COMMENTS:
This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the subject
matter jurisdiction of the Public Arts Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public cannot be present later in the meeting at the
time the item is heard by the Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on each item listed on the
posted Agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the Brown Act, it
generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Five (5) minutes assigned for each speaker.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Public Arts Commission Minutes for the November 9, 2017 Regular Meeting

3. Project and Event Review 2017-18
Confirm Public Arts project list and calendar for January-May 2018.
RECOMMENDATION: Direct Staff as Appropriate
4. Community Art Exhibitions 2017-18
Review Upcoming Exhibitions including: 19th Annual Juried Art Show; Martin Luther King, Jr.,
“Excellence in Art” Student Exhibition, updates.

5. Education and Community Outreach Programming
Review upcoming 2017-18 Outreach events, including: Boho Bazaar Art Mart: 16-17 December
2017, partner event with Desert Art Center; Review Confirmed Winter/Spring Programs;
Homeless Art Project; and update on programs with the Palm Springs Art Museum,
subcommittee report by Commissioner Murray

Update on future art exhibits and discussion on upcoming scheduled events

Provide update on status of John Clement Sculptures; Installation of artistic bike racks; Report
on the installation of temporary public art installations at the Downtown Park Site.

9. Murals: Commissioners Gladstone and Pritchard
Status on recommended changes to the guidelines relating to Art Murals on Private Property;
Identify business or property owner for a mural project funded by Public Arts; Update on
meeting with artist Ryan Campbell for commissioning of first City funded Mural Project.

ADJOURNMENT: The Public Arts Commission will adjourn to a Regular Meeting, Thursday, January 11, 2018,
at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, Large Conference Room, 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, California
