PUBLIC COMMENTS:
This time has been set aside for members of the public to address the Public Arts Commission on items of general interest within the
subject matter jurisdiction of the Public Arts Commission, and agenda items if the member of the public cannot be present later in the
meeting at the time the item is heard by the Commission. Additionally, members of the public may address the Commission on each item
listed on the posted Agenda at the time each item is heard. Although the Public Arts Commission values your comments, pursuant to the
Brown Act, it generally cannot take any action on items not listed on the posted agenda. Five (5) minutes assigned for each speaker.

2. July 13, 2017, Public Arts Commission Meeting Cancellation
Review calendar and make a recommendation to cancel the July 13, 2017, Public Arts
Commission meeting due to the summer holiday
RECOMMENDATION: Receive verbal report from Chair Sheffer and give direction
3. Create Downtown Park Site Subcommittee and Review Assignment of Subcommittee Members
RECOMMENDATION: Direct Staff as Appropriate

4. Project and Event Review 2017-18
Review current and upcoming Public Arts project list and calendar including Art Education
Programs; Annual Juried Art Show; Library Exhibitions; Student Exhibitions and Palm Springs

5. Education Outreach Programming
Subcommittee report on student photography class “Portraits of a City”; review exhibition
plans and public displays for Fall 2017
RECOMMENDATION: Receive verbal subcommittee report
6. Sites and Installations Report
Update on relocation of the John Clement Sculptures to the Tahquitz Median; relocation of
“R.HERO” to Victoria Park; Installation of two public art bicycle racks; Subcommittee report on
other pending installations
RECOMMENDATION: Receive subcommittee report and Staff update
7. Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) Sculpture Project
Discuss the cost to fabricate a sculpture base for inclusion in a recommendation to City Council
to accept the sculpture donation by the Transgender Day Of Remembrance Community
Coalition (TCC)
RECOMMENDATION: Receive verbal report from Subcommittee, discuss possible options,
confirm subcommittee members and direct Staff as appropriate

ADJOURNMENT: The Public Arts Commission will adjourn to a Regular Meeting on, Thursday, July 13, 2017,
at 2:00 p.m. at the Palm Springs Convention Center, Room Primrose C, 277 N. Avenida Caballeros, Palm
Springs, California.
