Palm Springs City Council Members, I’m writing to share a brief video I recorded TODAY at 2:45pm at San Luis Rey and Mission, which clearly shows the severe traffic congestion already occurring in the area—before the Chick-fil-A development has even broken ground. This intersection serves as a critical access point for residents of Dream Homes and Lakeview Villas, and the current infrastructure is already overwhelmed. Adding a dual-lane drive-thru without traffic mitigation or access improvements will only worsen the problem for the working-class families and children who rely on these roads daily. Please consider this real-world footage as further evidence that community voices must be included in the development process, and that responsible, equity-focused planning is not only possible—but essential.
