Full Name/Nombre Holly Gray City of Residence/Ciudad de residencia Palm Springs, Phone (optional) /Teléfono (opcional) Email (optional/opcional) hollyg9180@hotmail.com Your Comments/Sus comentarios While sympathetic to those impacted by this horrible tragedy, I don’t believe additional vacation rentals is a positive solution for them or PS: 1. Most impacted require long-term housing solutions vs. temporary weekly / monthly rentals 2. This will create additional strain on PS’s already challenged affordable housing issues - potentially displacing existing renters. We need to ensure a fair balance of housing is available to those who work, support, and live in PS. 3. Without a clear “clawback” plan or end date, how is it ensured that the additional permits do not become the new baseline? What is the governance to ensure this does not happen. A better solution may be ensuring existing STRs and home rentals remain fairly priced, and held accountable to anti-price gouging, which has become rampant in other cities across SoCal. Thank you.
