Planning Services, Our letter for the public hearing on January 22, 2025 on the division of the Palm Springs golf course site into seven parcels is attached. Best Regards, Darron Dahle, Rodolfo Dahle Palm Springs, CA 92262DarronDahle@gmail.com Mobile: 323-823-1040 PLANNING COMMISSION: Since 2011, we have lived on the east side of the Four Seasons community, located on the east side of north Sunrise Way. This side of Four Seasons has many homes adjacent to the old golf course, the subject property of this hearing on January 22, 2025. We received notice of the division of the old golf course into seven parcels. During the time that we have lived in Four Seasons, there have been several proposals for the dead golf course. There have been numerous promises from the owner to complete the project. At one point the developer of this property spoke to the residents of Four Seasons to tell us about the parameters of his project. When asked about the tamarisk trees that are on the golf course and adjoining the Four Seasons he remarked: ‘If there is a fire among the trees, there is a chance of fire spreading to the homes in Four Seasons, but it won’t be anything major.’ Saving trees in this world is important, but not these trees. Tamarisk trees have a great survival rate in the desert because of their root structure. Their roots extend down to the water table and horizontally to the sewer pipes and patios of Four Seasons homes. The world has just witnessed wildfires burning down large parts of Los Angeles. Before this 156-acre parcel is divided into seven smaller parcels, we ask that the tamarisk trees next to the Four Seasons 55 plus community be removed, roots and all. There are many retired people that live in Four Seasons and love their homes. It would be a shame if lives and homes were lost because of the lack of maintaining the trees on the old golf course. Thank you for your time and consideration. Darron & Rodolfo Dahle January 16, 2025
