Forever Marilyn has become a beloved attraction in the City of Palm Springs since its return in 2020, and in addition to the joy the statue brings to all who visit and are photographed with it, Forever Marilyn helps bring in essential revenue to Palm Springs businesses as well as the City of Palm Springs. In fact, cameras facing Forever Marilyn have recorded 761,693 visitors in just the past year alone. With the recent decision to move Forever Marilyn to Downtown Park, substantial costs are involved in order to make this move a reality. By assuring the funding for the move of Forever Marilyn is secured thought Measure J funds, Forever Marlyn will continue to draw residents and visitors to Downtown Palm Springs and generate revenue that will benefit the City of Palm Springs as a whole – along with its businesses and residents – by supplying funds that will support future City projects.
