PS TICKET will be a ticket booth in downtown Palm Springs at the Sun Center
shopping mall, near Revivals and PS Air Bar. The ticket booth will serve as a
centralized box office for every non-profit theatre organization in the city, selling
tickets day-off and in advance whether it be theatre companies, walking tours, and
organization which cannot afford to staff a ticketing office. PS TICKET will promote
tourism in the city. When a theatre company has empty seats on the day of the
show, PS TICKET will offer discounted tickets, similar to what is done with TKTS in
NYC's Times Square and BOSTIX in Boston, MA, encouraging those who feel
attending live shows is cost-prohibitive, creating new audiences. PS TICKET will
promote all the exciting arts and culture events in the city, promoting tourism and
creating another avenue for tourists in the city.

Dear Measure J Oversight Commission Members:
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!! Thank you for all your efforts to make Palm Springs an even more
remarkable place to live for locals and those who visit our desert paradise.
Recently we applied for assistance through the Measure J program to create a unified box
office at 611 S Palm Canyon Drive to help promote ticket sales for local theatrical
presentations. The Palm Springs unified box office would be similar to TKTS in New York
City and the one in London's Leicester Square. The box office would sell tickets in advance to
every theatrical presentation in town, then offer discounted tickets on the day of the
performance in order to fill empty seats, plus make the magic of live shows available to those
on living on fixed incomes. Selling tickets at a discounted rate benefits theatres wanting to put
butts in seats, but also builds an audience for future productions. Each participating theatre
company would supply access to their ticketing inventory for both advance sales and 'day of'
discounted tickets. Everything is computerized and only requires one user to access tickets.
There are no 'ongoing costs' associated with the project. We also hope tickets will be sold
here for other tourist programs such as Modernism, the Film Festival, the tram, house tours,
art museum tickets, bike tours, etc.
Although we prefer a location more in downtown Palm Springs near the Art Museum, we have
noticed significant foot traffic at Sun Center where our theatre company, Revolution Stage, is
located. Many locals and visitors shop at Revivals, the PS Air Bar, Spaghetteria, plus the
french bakery in the mall. In many ways, putting a centralized ticket booth in Sun Center
encourages visitors to discover more of the city rather than only downtown PS. Sun Center
also offers lots of free parking.
The Revolution Stage Company has leased Suite #15-16 at 611 S Palm Canyon Drive since
May 2023. We are a non-profit 501C3 organization. We have created an 'Off-Broadway' type
theatre here in Palm Springs available to many local performance artists and playwrights
seeking a stage. During our first season, we had over 250 performances at the RSC featuring
musicals, plays, cabaret, comedy, plus a whole host of other shows. We are already changing
how visitors view theatre in Palm Springs and want to assist other theatre companies selling
tickets, attracting visitors to their shows. The mission of the RSC is to make Palm Springs a
'must go destination' for theatre, bringing artists, normally only seen by locals in Los Angeles
or San Diego, to our city. People who vacation here should be able to see the best in live
entertainment at affordable prices.
When looking at the RSC, to the right, there was an outdoor area, surrounded by bamboo. We
have already replaced the area with a beautiful stage door entrance. This same area will
hopefully house the unified centralized box office. Our contractor and architect has
determined it will only take a small budget to create a ticket window to accommodate patrons.
We originally submitted a proposed budget for the project. I have attached some photos of
what we have done to the outside space since we submitted the original application.
Naturally, we would love the support of the City of Palm Springs to make our dreams a
reality.
The RSC is all about creating a REVOLUTION in Palm Springs, something we feel you are
also doing with Measure J. Thank you.
