6. Estimated project cost: $30,000.00
7. Short description of proposed project.
There is a portion of land along Ramon Road from Athena Ct to Belardo which is in
need of a finished sidewalk and an ADA compliant corner. This is a pedestrian
safety issue as this is the main route that all the hikers take to the Lykken trail.
There are roughly 90 residences off of Ramon between La Mirada and Belardo.
With one exception, Ramon is the only street that allows access to the downtown
without a safe end to end sidewalk. This project is on tribal land. When we had
discussed this with the City, they said that we couldn’t proceed without adding the
side walk on Belardo until it meets the Big Canyon walkway. We do not believe that
this is covered in the 1937 right of way map. In our research we found that our
right-of-way map shows Ramon Road should be covered under the 1937 Road
Abstract 7804 (attached) for a 80 ft. wide right-of-way (40’+40’). The current
halfwidth of the street is approximately 18 feet and a 6-8’ foot sidewalk can be
accommodated.

SIDEWALK
There is a stretch of land along Ramon Road
from Athena Ct. to Belardo which is in need of a
finished sidewalk and an ADA compliant corner.
This is a pedestrian safety issue as this is the
main route that hikers take to the North Lykken
trailhead and that residents take to reach
downtown.
There are roughly 90 residences off of Ramon
between La Mirada and Belardo. With one
exception, Ramon is the only street that
provides access to downtown without a safe
end-to-end sidewalk.
As a crude temporary solution, Skye
homeowners have constructed a rock path
along Ramon for hikers and walkers, although
most people choose to walk on Ramon rather
than on the dirt path which is a public safety
hazard.

-RAMON ROAD
SIDEWALK
This project is on tribal land. When we initially
discussed this with the City, they said that we
couldn’t proceed along Ramon without also
adding sidewalk along Belardo to Big Canyon.
In our research, however, we found that a right-
of-way map shows Ramon Road should be
covered under the 1937 Road Abstract 7804
(see page 5) for an 80 ft. wide right-of-way
(40’+40’).The current halfwidth of the street is
approximately 18 feet and a 6-8’ foot sidewalk
can be accommodated.
The estimated cost of the Ramon Road portion
of the project, with an ADA corner, is estimated
at $30,000. If we were required to extend the
sidewalk along Belardo, from Ramon to Big
Canyon, it would likely add another $25,000-
$30,000 to the cost of the project.
