Dear City Manager, City Council, Sustainability Commissioners, and Village Fest Board members, Please note that pop-up tobacco sales are banned by the Riverside County "TRP" Tobacco Retail Permit ordinance, which was adopted by the City of Palm Springs several years ago, and with a strong 5-0 approval vote by City Council. A vendor applicant for Village Fest is on their upcoming agenda with the expressed intention of selling tobacco. NO! Honestly, even without the "TRP" this should be a HARD NO! This should have become a Smoke-Free City many many MANY years ago. And - Village Fest - a clear no brainer for a safe smoke-free space event. Thank You, Bob Heinbaugh and Paul Hinrichsen - Upper West Side NOrg long-time leadership members and dedicated city volunteers.
