I wish to comment on the Planning Commission's agenda item regarding Chick-fil-A. I am a gay resident of Palm Springs. I think it is wrong to potentially deny approval of the project solely on political reasons. Diversity and inclusiveness mean just that--diversity of view points and inclusive of all people regardless of their political views. We need to build bridges across people holding diverse viewpoints, not build walls dividing us even more. There is no need for the City of PS to make a statement regarding whatever charities the owners of Chick-fil-A happens to support. Let's allow a new business into our community to provide citizens with eating options and to create more jobs. Please allow this project to go forward. The time in now for freedom of speech, true diversity and true inclusiveness...not for more divisiveness. If someone does not want to patronize the restaurant, they can stay away. It is not the City's role to dictate political correctness. Thank you for listening Mitchell Marks
