Children/Students, Entire Palm Springs Community, Individuals with Disabilities, Other: Veterans, their immediate families, tourists with proof of military service 6. Estimated project cost: $280,980.00 7. Short description of proposed project. Our Facility was built in 1948 and was designated as a Class 1 historical building by the City in 1999. The building is now 76 years old and needs major upgrades to continue its daily use by the 254 veterans, 109 Sons of veterans, and the 236 wives, daughters and spouses who LIVE in our City. In addition there are 755 veterans ,Sons and Auxiliary members who live in our Valley. Visitors with proof of military service may visit with us during their visits. The proposed upgrades are an absolute minimum to continue our daily operation. The Palm Springs Preservation Foundation has surveyed the building and provided blue prints to alter our main room back to its original structure with a lamella ceiling. This is a separate project that can not be attempted until the building support system is upgraded.
