What demographic(s) does this project serve? Entire Palm Springs Community, Individuals with Disabilities, Seniors, Others: Tourists 6. Estimated project cost: $30,000.00 7. Short description of proposed project. There is a portion of land along Ramon Road from Athena Ct to Belardo which is in need of a finished sidewalk and an ADA compliant corner. This is a pedestrian safety issue as this is the main route that all the hikers take to the Lykken trail. There are roughly 90 residences off of Ramon between La Mirada and Belardo. With one exception, Ramon is the only street that allows access to the downtown without a safe end to end sidewalk. This project is on tribal land. When we had discussed this with the City, they said that we couldn’t proceed without adding the side walk on Belardo until it meets the Big Canyon walkway. We do not believe that this is covered in the 1937 right of way map. In our research we found that our right-of-way map shows Ramon Road should be covered under the 1937 Road Abstract 7804 (attached) for a 80 ft. wide right-of-way (40’+40’). The current halfwidth of the street is approximately 18 feet and a 6-8’ foot sidewalk can be accommodated.
