Mr. Mayor,
Please let me know where I can find the streets in Palm Springs, that are scheduled for street
slurry seal in the city of Palm Springs’s? Is Deepwell Estates included in any projects? If it
isn’t scheduled, why not?
Several years ago, I headed a group of my nearby home owners, to repair the few last streets in
Deepwell Estates, that had fallen on complete disrepair, (while other streets in DE had been
repaved). After the last elected Mayor and Lisa Middleton intervened, we finally got our
streets repaired, which was not a vanity project but a necessary one. Those streets were
ridiculous, with cracked, uneven pavement and potholes. Btw; I was told by City Officials
not to worry about the unsafe roads and just use the “sidewalks” instead. If that Official had
bothered to even do a simple google search (certainly I wouldn’t expect him to leave his or her
office or even know what their city looks like, they would have discovered, Deepwell Estates
doesn’t have sideways throughout the neighborhood).
At the time, we were told to maintain the streets the City would put the streets, on a regular
rotation for slurry sealing. Surry Sealing the street, is cheaper to taxpayers, than repairing it
due to neglect.
In addition, have you seen the deplorable condition of Palm Canyon drive? As we complete
the Plaza Renovation, are there plans to correct the neglected street in front of it?
I would encourage Council as we plan for the future, to focused on all the residents of Palm
Springs’s and what benefits the majority of taxpayers. We are watching.
I found this article and thought you should see this;
Below is a messsge from Council in Ranch Mirage:
“RANCHO MIRAGE, CA - Beginning Monday, September 16, 2024, the City of Rancho
Mirage will commence its citywide roadway slurry sealing project, impacting multiple
roadways across the city.
During this period, intermittent lane restrictions will be in place.
The initial phase will focus on the Mirage Cove area.
Weekly notifications will be issued by the City to specify affected streets for effected
