HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-07-08- ARC MinutesCITY OF PALM SPRINGS ARCHITECTURAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE Council Chamber, City Hall 3200 East Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA 92262 MINUTES OF JULY 8, 2013 CALL TO ORDER: Chair Secoy-Jensen called the meeting to order at 3:00 pm Committee Members Present: Secoy-Jensen, Fauber, Cassady, Hirschbein, Song Excused: Fredricks, Purnel Staff: Wheeler, Newell PUBLIC COMMENTS: There were no public comments. 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Approval of Minutes as presented for meeting of June 24, 2013. ACTION: M/S/C (Fauber / Hirschbein (4-0-1) Song abstained. 2. ENCLAVE AT SUNRISE, LLC AMENDMENT TO FINAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN (CASE 5.1014 PDD 301 AMND) — An amendment (minor change) to the Final Development Plans for PDD 301 to allow three new single family residential plan types on the 19 vacant lots of an existing 52 lot subdivision located at the northwest corner of Sunrise Way and Racquet Club. Associate Planner Newell presented the proposed project plans and elevations and the previously approved plans. Committee Member Hirschbein asked if there was an HOA. Committee Member Song asked about difference from original color palette to this. Christopher Brandon, applicant representative, indicated the colors were selected to meet market demand for a contemporary look. Just as with previous plan, there are options for each plan. Carter McLarand, representing the project owner, said he had been working with the HOA but had not requested formal action yet. He said two existing slabs will be removed. Chair Secoy-Jensen stressed the importance of a thoughtful integration of colors. ACTION: M/S/C (Cassady / Hirschbein (5-0). Motion to approve. Architectural Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes of July 8, 2013 COMMITTEE REPORTS: Potential topics for joint AAC/PC workshops: Committee Member Hirschbein - The entire process of AAC to PC/or HSPB to Planning to Building and status of downtown project, what will be coming back to AAC, especially interface of building fagade with tenant improvements. Chair Secoy-Jensen — Need to create a very specific checklist for submittals. Committee Member Cassady — Request feedback from PC re: priorities, general guidance. Committee Member Fauber — Will email list of ideas. ADJOURNMENT: The Architectural Advisory Committee adjourned at 3:27 pm to its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 3:00 pm, City Hall, Council Chamber, 3200 E.
