OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF
IMPROVEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
N0. 85
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance of the City of Palm Springs, California,
has heretofore on the 21st day of November _19 publicly
opened , examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals or bids
offered for improvements , as follows: construction of P.C. concrete
curbs, gutters and driveway approaches, asphalt concrete pavement , and an
irrigation sprinkler system for planting in the curbed center islands in
Golf Club Drive from East Palm Canyon Drive (State Highway 111) to
Avenue 34,
all as particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 8722
adopted by the City Council of said City on the 8th day of
August 19 66 and on file in the office of the City
Clerk of said City.
For further particulars , reference is hereby made to said Resolution of
Intention, and to the plans, profiles and drawings NOS.1108 through 1108-8
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City; and all of said
plans, profiles, drawings and specifications heretofore approved by the
City Council of said City are incorporated herein and made a part hereof,
and reference is hereby made thereto for a more particular description of
said work.
The City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated work
and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the opinion of said City
Council of more than local or ordinary public benefit and the said City
Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable upon said district.
Said City Council has determined that serial bonds bearing interest at
the rate of six percent (6%) per annum and extending over a period of
nine (9) years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding the next
September 1st following their date, will be issued hereunder in the manner
provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Part 5, Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, to represent each
assessment of Fifty Dollars ($50) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30)
days after the date of recording the warrant.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in
pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California
designated the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division 7 of the Streets
and Highways Code.
The City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals and bids, except
the next hereinafterimentioned, and hereby awards the contract for the
improvement hereinabove described, to the lowest responsible bidder,
to-wit :

The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a notice of
award of contract to be published in the manner and form required
by Law by two insertions in the "DESERT SUN", a daily newspaper
printed, published and of general circulation in said City and here-
by designated for that purpose by the City Council; and shall further
record said notice of award with the Riverside County Recorder, as
provided by Law.
