HomeMy WebLinkAbout8789RESOLUTION NO. 8789 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1966-67. WHEREAS Resolution No. 8707, approving the Budget for the fiscal year 1966-67, was passed on July 11, 1966; and WHEREAS the Golf Course Clubhouse and Parking Lot Project was budgeted for completion in two (2) phases covering fiscal years 1966-67 and 1967-68; and WHEREAS the Golf Course Advisory Committee has recommended to the City Council that the Clubhouse and Parking Lot be entirely completed in 1966-67 instead of in two (2) phases as originally planned; and WHEREAS the architect estimated the total combined cost of Phase I and Phase II of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot at $167,000; and WHEREAS the 1966-67 Budget includes $137,500 for the completion of only Phase I of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot; and WHEREAS on October 27, 1966, the City received bids on the construc- tion of both Phase I and Phase II of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot; and I WHEREAS, after certain revisions, the low bid received for the construction of both Phase I and Phase II of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot will exceed the architect's original estimate in the amount of $7,718; and WHEREAS the architect originally estimated total architect fees for Phase I and Phase II of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot Project at 10,000; and WHEREAS $10,000 was included in the 1966-67 Budget for architect fees; and WHEREAS the total architect fees for Phase I and Phase II of the Clubhouse and Parking Lot have exceeded the architect's original estimate in the amount of $3,977 ; and WHEREAS the City Council also desires to include $5,000 for contingencies in the construction of the Golf Course Clubhouse and Parking. No. 8789 Page 2 NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby amend the budget for the 1966-67 fiscal year and appropriate $46,195 to the Golf Course Acquisition Account 43-495-4050 to complete both Phase I and Phase II of the Golf Course Clubhouse and Parking Lot Project in fiscal year 1966-67, including $5,000 for contingencies. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said appropriation shall be financed by transferring $46, 195 from General Fund Surplus.
