HomeMy WebLinkAbout8764RESOLUTION NO. 8764 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING JOINT USE AGREEMENT WITH THE PALM SPRINGS UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE JOINT I USE OF RU'TH HARDY PARK AND KATHERINE FINCHY SCHOOL PROPERTY (AGREEMENT NO. 472) WHEREAS the City and School District mutually desire to develop and make available contiguous park and recreation facilities for the use and enjoyment of both students of the School District and residents of Palm Springs; and WHEREAS the City and School District mutually desire the development and transition of the Ruth Hardy Park site and the Katherine Finchy School site from two contiguous but separate and distinct functions into a unified and coordinated school-park site distinguished by the absence of all physical barriers designating areas of usage or owner- ship; and WHEREAS the Board of'.E ducat Lon of the Palm Springs Unified School District on September 22, 1966, did approve Agreement No. 472 subject to the following conditions: 1. That final plans for improvements made under the agreement must be approved by the School District before they are put out to bid. 2. That a depreciation schedule acceptable to both parties be adopted for all improvements made on School District property at such time as the cost of such improvements can be deter- mined; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Palm Springs does hereby approve Agreement No. 472 with the Palm Springs Unified School District commencing September 22, 1966, and terminating on September 21, 1986.
