DECLARING ITS !NTEWTION TO ORDER CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN
IMPROVEMENTS IN GOLF CLUB DR BETWEEN EAST PALM_ CANYON (ST. MY 111.)
AND A POINT APPROXIMATELY 450-FT NORTH OF AVENUE 34

FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK
The City Council of the City of Palm Springs , pursuant to the provisions
of the "improvement Act of 1911 ," being Division 7 of the Streets and
Highways Code of the State of California , does resolve as follows :
SECTION ONE: That the public interest and convenience require, and it is
the intention of the City Council of the City of Palm Springs , California,
to order the following work to be done , to-wit :
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The improvements requested, are the installation of a water distribution main
consisting of 12" concrete lined steel pipe with 8" and 6" stubs to property line
valves and appurtenances(exclusive of fire hydrants) in Golf Club Dr between Fast
Palm Canyon & Ave. 34; ;construction of P.C. concrete curbs and gutters, asphalt c
Crete pavement, and an irrigigatiou system for planting in the curbed center ialan
in Golf Club Dr.from Hwy III to Ave. 34 and asphalt concrete paving in Golf Club
from Ave. 34 to approximately 450-ft northerly of Ave. 34 to a connection with
Crossley Rd.
The City shall contribute an amount to install a sewer main in conjunction with,
but not as a part of the assessment district. Laterals to the property line shai
be constructed as a part of the district.
If right of way for the portion north of Ave. 34 cannot be obtained, construction
in this area will not be carried out and the project will terminate at Avenue 30 .
PLANS , PROFILES , DRAWINGS
AND SPECIFICATIONS
SECTION TWO: That all of the said work and improvement to be done shall
be constructed upon the grades , along the lines, between the points, of
the dimensions, at the places and in the manner shown on the plans ,
profiles and drawings for construction of said improvements in Golf Club Drive
between E. Palm Canyon (Hwy 111) and a point approximately 050-ft north of Avenue
34, 1107-1 co 1107-3 and
known as Assessment District No. 85 ) , being Drawing Nos.1108-1 to 1108-8
on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City, and except- as
otherwise provided on said plans, in further accordance with the specifica-
tions being on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City and to
which plans , profiles , drawings and specifications hereby approved by the
City Council of said City, reference is hereby made for a further, full and
more particular description of said work and by reference thereto the same
are incorporated herein and made a part hereof.
DESCRIPTION- OF ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
SECTION THREE: That the said contemplated work and improvement , in the
opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary public .
benefit and the said City Council, hereby makes the expenses of said work
and improvement chargeable upon a district, which said district said City
Council hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work• and im-
provement and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, and
which district is described as follows:

DESCRIPTION OF BONDS
SECTION FOUR: That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate' Of
sJ" Percent (6%) per anaum, shall_ be issued to represent each
assessment of ollars (350) or more remaining unpaid for
thirty (30) days wfc .r. date of recording the warrant. Said
serial bonds shall e.:ter;c; over a 'period ending nine (9) years from
the second day of January newt succeeding the nest September 1st
following their date. 'Payments on the principal of unpaid assess-
nents and interest thereon shall be made by property owners to the
City Treasurer, and the same shall be disbursed by said City Treasurer
all as provided in the "Improvement Act of 1911," hereinafter referred to.

SECTION FT_VE : NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the
12th day IofS_epcember 1>66 , at the hour of 7 :3C o'clock p.m. , i.t:
the chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of said City, any and,
all persons having any objections to the proposed work or improvement:
or cc the extent of the assessment district, or to 'the proposed grades,,
may appear and show cause why said work should not be done or carried
out in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. -Protests must be '
qa •.;riling and must be delivered to the City Clerk prior to the time
set for the hearing.
IMPROVEMENT ACT
SECTION SI'I: That all of the work herein proposed shall be done
and carried through in pursuance of an act of the legislature of the
Sr_atL of California, designated the "Improvement Act of 197.1," being
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
and further that the City Cleric is the nominated officer to open all bids.

SECTION SEVEN: That the "Desert .Si .", a daily newspaper printed,
published and of general circulation in he City of ,Palm Springs,
California, -'is hereby designated as the .,ewspape-r in which the Resoiution
of Intention, shall be published by the G:_ty Clerk, in the manner and

The City Clerk is directed to mail notices of the adoption of
