OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AWARDING THE CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF
IMPROVEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
NO. 78
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs, California,
has heretofore on the 15Eh day of July 1966
publicly opened, examined and publicly declared all sealed proposals
or bids offered for improvements, as follows : installation of
sanitary sewers with house laterals to the property line and the
construction of Portland cement concrete curbs, gutters and drive-
way aprons and asphalt concrete pavement on Chia Road between
Paseo de Anza and Sunrise Way and those portions of Pasco de Anza
and Sunrise Way adjacent to properties fronting on Chia Road,
all as particularly described in Resolution of Intention No. 8544 ,
adopted by the City Council of said City on the 13th day of
December 19 65 and on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City.

For further ^particulars, reference is hereby made to said Resolution
of Intention, and to the plans, profiles and drawings Nos. 1058-1 to
1058-3 on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City;
and all of said plans, profiles, drawings and specifications hereto-
fore approved by the City Council of said City are incorporated herein
and made a part hereof, and reference is hereby made thereto for a
more particular description of said work.
The City Council has determined and declared that the contemplated
work and improvement heretofore mentioned was, in the opinion of
said City Council of more than local or ordinary public benefit and
the said City Council has made the expenses of said work chargeable
upon said district .
Said City Council has determined that serial bonds bearing interest
at the rate of six percent (6%) per annum and extending over a period
of nine (9) years from the 2nd day of January next succeeding the
next September 1st following their date, will be issued hereunder in
the manner provided by the "Improvement Act of 1911," being Part 5,
Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California,
to represent each assessment of Fifty. Dollars ($50.00) or more remain-
ing unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant.
All of the work herein ordered shall be done and carried through in
pursuance of an act of the legislature of the State of California
designated the "Improvement Act of 1911," being Division 7 of the
Streets and Highways Code.
The City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals and bids,
except the next hereinafter mentioned, and hereby awards the contract
for the improvement hereinabove described, to the lowest responsible
bidder, to-wit :

The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to cause a not.:icc ofawardofcontracttobepublishedinthemannerandformrequired
by Law by two insertions in the "DESERT SUN", a daily newspaper
Iprinted , published and of general circulation in said City and here-
by designated for that purpose by the City Council; and shall further
record said notice of award with the Riverside County Recorder, as
provided by law.
