HomeMy WebLinkAbout8714RESOLUTION NO. 8714 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TERMINATE NEGOTIATIONS WITH GERRY POTTER RELATIVE I TO SETTLEMENT AND PAYMENT OF VALUE OF HER LEASE- HOLD ON THE PEAKE PROPERTY, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PROCEED WITH PARTIAL FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF PARKING LOT, TO DEMOLISH THE APART- MENT IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND TO NEGOTIATE LEASES FOR THE TWO VACANT STORES FRONTING ON PALM CANYON DRIVE, WHEREAS , the City Manager was authorized and directed, by Resolution No. 8533 to purchase the E.W.A. Peake property located in Block 25 in the City of Palm Springs , subject to any rights now possessed by the existing tenants , and WHEREAS , Gerry Potter holds a lease on a store building located on this property which has a termination date of August 31, 1969, and WHEREAS , attempts to negotiate a settlement and payment of the value of this lease have been unsuccessful, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED. 1, That the City Manager be authorized to terminate negotiations with Gerry Potter relative to payment of the value of the leasehold, 2 . That the City Manager be authorized to proceed with partial further development of a parking lot on the above mentioned property with a view to possible participation in cost by surrounding owners , to demolish the apartment in connection therewith, and to negotiate leases for the two vacant stores fronting on Palm Canyon Drive, Adopted this 25th day of July 1966 AYES .
