RESOLUTION NO. 8701
OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING PURCHASE OF 1.29 ACRE
SITE FOR A FIRE STATION IN SECTION 26 , TOWNSHIP
4 SOUTH, RANGE 4 EAST, SAN BERNARDINO BASE AND
I MERIDIAN, FROM THE PALM SPRINGS UNIFIED SCHOOL
DISTRICT IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.
WHEREAS, the budget for 1965-66 provides for purchase of a fire
station site in the south end of the City, and
WHEREAS, a master plan study for future Fire Department needs made
by the firm of Gage-Babcock recommends the site in Section 26,
Township 4 South, Range 4 East , S.B.B.&M. , among others , for a fire
station in the south end of the City, and
WHEREAS, a check of all sites recommended by the master plan study
made by the firm of Gage-Babcock indicates that the site in Section 26 ,
Township 4 South, Range 4 East , S.B.B.&M. now owned by the Palm
Springs Unified School District to be the most feasible and economi-
cally practical site for the fire station in the south end of the City,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Palm Springs does authorize the purchase of 1.29 acre site from the
Palm Springs Unified School District located on LaVerne Way in
Section 26, Township 4 South, Range 4 East , S.B.B.&M. in the amount
of $20,000.00.
