HomeMy WebLinkAbout8610RESOLUTION NO. 8610 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF I CURBS, GUTTERS, PAVING AND IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN CENTER ISLANDS AT GOLF CLUB DRIVE, BETWEEN EAST PALM CANYON DRIVE AND APPROXIMATELY 450 FEET NORTH OF AVENUE 34 (ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 85) WHEREAS, the City Engineer is in receipt of a petition, signed by owners of property abutting streets within the district involved; said petition requesting this City Council to investigate proceedings under the 1911 Improvement Act, looking to the installation of curbs, gutters, asphalt concrete pavement, and an irrigation system for planting in the curbed center islands from Highway Ill to Avenue 34 and asphalt concrete paving to approximately 450 feet northerly of Avenue 34 to a connection with Crosley Road. WHEREAS„ said petition has been signed by property owners owning more than 60 percent of the property within the district indicated in such petition; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of our citizens that the City of Palm Springs proceed to have said improvement installed pursuant to the £911 Improvement Act, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that, upon the basis of the statements set forth in the WHEREAS clauses above recited, the City Engineer is hereby directed to proceed with the preparation of plans and I specifications and an estimate of costs for the installation of P.C. concrete curbs and gutters, asphalt concrete pavement , and an irrigation system for planting in the curbed center islands from Highway 111 to Avenue 34 & asphalt concrete paving to approximately 450 feet northerly of Avenue 34 to a connection with Crosley Road, all pursuant to the "1911 Improvement Act of the State of California".
