HomeMy WebLinkAbout8595RESOLUTION NO. 8595 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA, ACKNOWLEDGING T1IE RECEIPT OF A NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CIRCULATE A PETITION FOR THE ANNEXATION OF TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "PORTIONS I OF SECTION 34 AND 35" AND AN AFFIDAVIT OF PUB- LICATION THEREOF AND APPROVING THE CIRCULATION OF THE PETITION. WHEREAS on January 19, 1966, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of Riverside approved a proposal for annexation to the City of Palm Springs territory designated as "portions of Section 34 and 35"• and WHEREAS on February 9, 1966, there was filed with the City Clerk of the City of Palm Springs a copy of a notice of intention to circulate a petition relating to annexation of certain territory to the City of Palm Springs, under the Annexation Act of 1913 , pertaining to the above designated territory, accompanied by a written statement containing reasons for the petition together with an affidavit of publication of said notice in the DESERT SUN; and WHEREAS the Annexation Act of 1913 provides that the legislative body may adopt a resolution acknowledging receipt of the notice and approving the circulation of the petition, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Palm Springs, California : 1. That the receipt of the notice, statement and affidavit is hereby acknowledged, and that approval is hereby given for the circulation of the petition for annexation of that territory designated as "portions of Section 34 and 35", twenty-one days after the publication of said notice and statement . 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
