My name is Claudette Lerma. Together with my husband Jesse Lerma, we share ownership of condo G44 that immediately fronts onto the former Mesquite Golf Course. Since the golf course was sold to Oswit two years we have seen the land grow fallow, unsightly and dangerous because of predators that now have free reign to roam throughout the landscape. Per Oswit's own website (https://oswitlandtrust.org/prescott-preserve-the-restoration-plan-news/) "From the beginning our goal is to keep the Preserve open during restoration. Sometimes trails may change, sometimes areas may be closed off and sometimes it will be prettier than other times, but in the end, it will be spectacular!" None of these promises have yet to be fulfilled. Further and to the point of Qswit's request for a "minor amendment to PDD 153 to convert the former Mesquite Golf Course to a nature preserve.... This is a massive project" contravening their claim of minor alterations. It is totally premature to permit permanent changes to the landscape until such time as all legal and contractual matters have been settled. Email Address is planning@palmspringsca.gov ACT has sent around 40 letters supporting approval tonight according to the Planning website. I believe it is premature due to reasons I cited in my letter to City which I have attached. I did PDF due to length of my comments. If you agree with anything I have written, feel free to use it in your own email. If you had a chance to review the email attachment sent by the Board yesterday, The Planning Dept. report, you will see 26 outstanding items for Engineering alone. Some are minor, but many are costly and time consuming, not to mention the nearly $200,000 cash bond required. Best, Angie Knapp Phase 1
