As a homeowner at MCC and with my unit facing the preserve, I have concerns for the future state of the preserve. Below is my input for tonight’s planning commission meeting over Oswit. The state of Prescott Preserve is in a state of grave concern for anyone who is living on the preserve or around the preserve…putting everyone’s homes/investments/lives in danger! Most notably it is a FIRE HAZARD. Below is a picture of when I purchased my unit in December 2017 in Phase 1 overlooking what was then the golf course. The second picture is what it looks like today July 24, 2020 with overgrown brush/trees, dead grass, and something that once looked like a pond. My concerns… -dead grass is a fire hazard…and it is very close to my home. -having my home insurance policy cancelled. Insurance companies are cancelling/not renewing home insurance policies in fire prone areas in CA. -this is a windy area and dirt/sand is blowing everywhere from the preserve as it is evident everyday having to clean my balconies and furniture. (I don’t mind the actual cleaning…I mind the poor air quality and not being able to enjoy the outdoors on my private balconies. With grass…there is very little dirt/sand blowing.) -property values continuing to decrease. My neighbors being on the preserve had a very difficult time selling their place and lost about $70,000. -the ponds are disgusting and BREEDING mosquitoes. Another reason I cannot sit on my balconies. -unhoused people walking in and out of the bushes and staying for a period of time. Thank you, Tom PALMISANO
