Dear Palm Springs Planning Commission, I am writing to you in support of item 4C - Oswit Land Trust's efforts to restore Prescott Preserve on tomorrow's (7/24/2024) agenda: A REQUEST BY THE OSWIT LAND TRUST, FOR A MINOR AMENDMENT TO PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (PDD 153) TO ALLOW THE RESTORATION OF APPROXIMATELY 90 ACRES OF THE 120-ACRE FORMER GOLF COURSE AND COUNTRY CLUB SITE INTO A NATIVE DESERT HABITAT AND NATURE PRESERVE; THE SITE IS LOCATED BETWEEN SUNRISE WAY; AND EL CIELO ROAD; NORTH OF MESQUITE AVENUE; ZONE PDD 153/W, SECTION 24 (CASE 5.0303-PD 153) (ER). I am supporting the Prescott Preserve restoration project as it bolsters climate change resilience, lightening the City’s carbon footprint and assisting in the City’s goal of becoming a “net neutral” carbon community by 2030. The Preserve functions as a valuable resource to the Palm Springs community, offering accessible nature trails, dog-walking paths, spectacular views, and multiple opportunities to enjoy nature and observe local wildlife. Thank you, Tatjana Kudla Resident of Palm Springs, CA
