No one can predict the future and I would prefer to see a detailed, completely transparent expenditure list. Try some fiscal austerity instead, 300K + for playground equipment as an example is just ridiculous Thank you, City of Palm Springs This is an automated message generated by Granicus. July 9, 2024 City of Palm Springs City Council/City Hall Chamber 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way Palm Springs, CA. 92262 Attn: City Clerk/City Council/City Manager/General Public Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the July 9, 2024 (5:30PM) Palm Springs City Council meeting - Agenda Item: 3.A (elimination of original voted on agreement - Taxes) Dear current City Council, It's reasonable to consider that the current extremely progressive Palm Springs City Council has taken radical political maneuvers to waste taxpayer's resources to add a ballot measure to eliminate a voter approved "Sunset" clause on Measure "J" sale tax increase. It's remarkably clear that such a radical political maneuvers to extend the city's one (1) cent sale tax increase past the voter agreed time (due to expires on March 31, 2037) was to potentially have California constitutional amendments (ACA 1 and ACA 13) that may be installed after November 2024 by California voters (or democratic shenanigans) in place. Plus another ballot measure that has been removed by legal ranging from California's political powers (Taxpayers Protection Act). Would certainly make that Measure "J" tax a forever tax without the possibility of having future attempts to have that tax and others ever removed by direct voter efforts. It's very suspicious that having this discussion (Agenda Item: 3.A) attached to this Palm Springs City Council meeting (Tuesday) that may have less public partispation (real time monitoring of Residents) because of the Citys methodology of moving the long established Thursday Palm Springs City Council meetings to a Tuesday meeting for this week only. It's highly likely that Riverside County Transportation Commission may announced a Ballot measure to increase the regional sales tax by one (1) cent for the upcoming State wide election in November 2024. City of Palm Springs already has the highest sale tax in the Coachella Valley with the possibility of an inconvenience increase in November 2024 with voter approval (or ballot shenanigans). Tourists already may have negative opinions over the high sales tax in the city of Palm Springs - why continue bad policys for our tax hungry political classes and their special Interests - 07/09/2024 Public Comment Item 3A Sincerely, Brad Anderson | Rancho Mirage, CA. | ba4612442@gmail.com Cc: 07/09/2024 Public Comment Item 3A From:Alyssa Chavez To:City Clerk Subject:FW: Homeless ordinance Date:Tuesday, July 9, 2024 3:21:24 PM Hello, Please see the email below.
