Dear Mayor, City Council, CIty Manager, and Staff, Measure J - A BIG FAT YES!!! to removing the sunset and letting it run without any end date. You already know the countless reasons. Marilyn - Keep her where she to keep the controversy going - - it's good publicity. Gives people something to talk about. She is surprisingly popular. Thanks, Bob Heinbaugh & Paul Hinrichsen 06/27/2024 Public Comment Item 3A June 21, 2024 Jeffrey Bernstein, Mayor, and Members of City Council City Hall Palm Springs, CA 92262 Dear Mr. Mayor and Councilmembers, On behalf of the Board of Directors of Organized Neighborhoods of Palm Springs (ONE-PS), I would like to express our enthusiasm about the prospects for increased funding for community initiated projects from Measure J resources that will continue to enhance the livability of all neighborhoods throughout the City of Palm Springs. Measure J Commission Chair, Naomi Soto, has paid several visits to both our board and monthly membership assembly to more than capably explain how Measure J has and will continue to provide much needed funding for projects that have direct impact on neighborhoods. At our July meeting I plan to lead a workshop for our members to communicate their interests in future projects that they would like to see funded by Measure J. During the August break we will help neighborhoods research and flesh out the details that will support the success of their projects. And at our September meeting we will present the top 3 - 5 projects for consideration, followed by completing the required applications in time for the September 30 deadline. Extending the lifespan of Measure J into the future benefits all neighborhoods, especially when the majority of its funding is derived more so from visitors to our community than neighbors themselves. Thank you for your continued support of the domestic well being of nearly 44,000 residents who call Palm Springs home. Yours respectfully, Chris Ruetz Chairman 06/27/2024 Public Comment Item 3A
