44 At approximately 2041 hours, Officer Burton was charted. Officer Burton was dressed in a Palm
45 Springs Police Department uniform, which consisted of blue 5'11 TDU pants, a blue short-sleeved shirt, and
46 a blue loadbearing vest. I noted that he had "Palm Springs Police Department" patches affixed to the sleeves
47 of his short sleeve shirt. Officer Burton had blood on the upper portion (right side) of his loadbearing vest.
48 The following are injuries observed on Officer Burton's person. Officer Burton had a small cut on his lower
49 lip (right side) and a couple of scratches on his top lip (right/left side). Officer Burton's right ring/pinky fingers
50 were wrapped in bandaging after being treated at Desert Regional Hospital.
On Thursday, 08/08/19, I was tasked with processing Palm Springs Police Officers Enriquez and
Burton. The Officers uniform/weapons charting was conducted within the Palm Springs Police Departments
Training Center with the assistance of Forensic Tech Land and Master Investigator Stoyer. As part of the
charting, overall and close-up digital photographs were taken of the involved officers by Forensic Tech
Land. The charting consisted of the digital photography and documentation of uniforms, equipment and
service weapons, as well as the collection and packaging of any evidence items by Forensic Tech Land, at
my direction and supervision. (Refer to Forensic Identification Reports for further details)
In addition, Officer Enriquez was also wearing black work boots, a black leather duty belt consisting
of a black right handed tactical holster, which contained her primary service weapon, an X 26 P Taser, key
holder, and a small pepper spray can. Additionally, Officer Enriquez's front portion of her vest held, a Palm
Springs Police Officer metal badge #89, (2) fifteen round 9mm handgun magazines, a set of black-steel
handcuffs, HT radio, a tourniquet, small clip-on light, and miscellaneous cards. The rear portion of her vest
contained a baton, set of silver steel handcuff set, a digital camera, HT radio earpiece, and a digital recorder.
Officer Enriquez's primary service weapon was a Glock Model 19, a 9mm caliber semi-automatic
handgun, S/R # w/ an attached Streamlight TLR-1HL tactical light S/R # . I inspected
her primary service weapon and found that it was loaded, with one round chambered and fourteen rounds of
duty ammunition in the pistol's primary magazine. An inspection of her two additional magazines resulted in
both magazines being loaded to capacity, with all three of the primary service magazines having been loaded
with Hornady Luger 9mm ammunition. Officer Enriquez's primary service weapon was loaded to capacity
prior to the shooting, with fifteen rounds of duty ammunition in the magazine and one round chambered,
Officer Enriquez was found to have no other firearms on her person.
In total, Officer Enriquez was documented as having three primary service weapon magazines with
forty-five rounds of Hornady Luger 9mm ammunition. There were no unaccounted/missing rounds noted
from any of the magazines and Officer Enriquez advised that she had utilized only one round of the Hornady
Luger 9mm ammunition. No further actions were taken and Officer Enriquez's charting ended at
approximately 2030 hours. (Refer to the Forensic Identification Report & Digital Media Disc for further
