BRAND/NAME SERIAL NUMBER MISC. DESCRIPTION VALUE pURCE: Un 8-08-2019 I was working uniformed bike patrol in marked PSPD unit 07. At approximately 1622 hours I was responded to 588 S. Palm Canyon Dr. reference a possible officer involved physical altercation. OFFICER STATEMENT: I arrived on scene at approximately 1625 hours. Upon my arrival I noticed other officers were already on scene and providing aid to the possible suspect in the dirt construction area at the intersection of S. Palm Canyon Dr. and Camino Parocela. I walked to the west curb line of S. Palm Canyon Dr. and contacted Officer Burton who was still actively bleeding form his nose and right hand. I noticed Officer Burton's right hand had significant lacerations to his middle, index and ring fingers. After Officer Burton had been photographed I assisted him with cleaning his wounds and bandaging. I stayed with Officer Burton until relived by PSFD Paramedics. I spoke with a witness of the incident, The following is a summary of his statement; was travelling south bound in the number one lane of S. Palm Canyon Dr. at the time of the incident. stated he had to slow down due to a, "Scruffy looking man," running in front of his vehicle. As slowed he noticed both a male and female officer giving chase to the, "Scruffy looking man." The subject was later identified by officers as Kevyn Weintraub. stated as continued southbound he witnessed the male and female officers and Weintraub on the ground. Once on the ground it appeared Weintraub was, "Resisting arrest." stated he saw the male officer near Weintraub's upper torso and the female officer near his legs. stated it appeared Weintraub was reaching for the male officer's firearm. continued south bound and as he crossed Camino Parocela he heard what he believed was a single gunshot. stated he parked his vehicle in a nearby parking lot and waited for PSPD response. estimated his distance from the events he witnessed was approximately 1-40 feet. had no further information regarding the incident.
