Arellano DATE PALM SPRINGS POLICE DEPT. - 3311 PG# 1 DR NUMBER CODE 1908P-1476 ARTICLE NAME Off. BRAND/NAME SERIAL NUMBER MISC. DESCRIPTION VALUE - Thursday, August 08, 2019, I was assigned to the Palm Springs Police Department's Traffic Division as a dotorcycle officer, for the City of Palm Springs, within the County of Riverside. At about 1621 hours, I responded to 588 S. Palm Canyon Dr. in reference to a white male adult fighting with Officer Enriquez and Officer Burton. As I was riding to the above mentioned location Officer Enriquez advised via radio that she had deployed the taser and moments later she advised that shots had been fired. By the time I arrived the suspect had been detained and dispatch was advised that the suspect had suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. I then assisted by helping with road closures at Ramon Rd and S. Palm Canyon Dr. A female later identified as walked out of a nearby building and stated she was a witness and needed to speak to an officer about what she saw. The following is summarized statement. place of employment is at and left to go run an errand at Rite Aid (366 S. Palm Canyon Dr.). walked to the south parking lot of where her vehicle was parked. got into her vehicle and drove to the east parking lot entrance towards Indian Canyon Dr. As she was waiting to make a left hand turn onto Indian Canyon Dr. a white male adult in his late 20's to early 30's, clean shaven, wearing sunglasses, a white t-shirt, camo shorts and possibly a hat stood in front of her front bumper and was acting odd. The white male adult then without warning ran into traffic on Indian Canyon Dr. made a left hand turn and drove to Rite Aid. Once she arrived she decided to go back to her building and warn her co-workers as well as other tenants in her building about the subject she had just seen acting odd in front of her vehicle. drove back to her building and parked in the east parking lot of . When she exited ' vehicle she saw the same White Male adult standing in the middle of the roadway on Indian Canyon Dr. She jv the subject was holding a black object in his hand, she couldn't recall if it was his left or right hand, which she believed to be a knife. She saw that the subject was holding this object over his head in a threatening manner and was running towards a group of males in front of the Gentlemen's Barbershop (520 S. Indian Canyon Dr.) while holding this object over his head. saw that the group of males began to run away from the white male adult. The white male adult stopped running after the group of males and then ran back into the roadway of Indian Canyon Dr. and kept running southbound behind the Bank of America (588 S. Palm Canyon Dr.). did not see the white male adult return and she walked back into her building and warned all her co-worker and tenants in said she could possibly identify the white male adult if she saw him again.
