REPORTING OFFICER Calleros, J DATE 1 9 PALM SPRINGS POLICE DEPT. - 3311 PG# DR NUMBER 1908P-1476 VIP,g.NcE4PPQP#13,111, CODE On Thursday August 8, 2018 at approximately 1622 hours, I was assigned to the traffic unit, working uniformed )atrol driving a marked Palm Springs Police unit #32 for the City of Palm Springs, within the County of Riverside. I responded to the Bank of America (588 S Palm Canyon Drive) reference an officer involved shooting. ARTICLE NAME QTY. BRAND/NAME SERIAL NUMBER MISC. DESCRIPTION VALUE Responding from the PSPD traffic office, I arrived on scene at approximately 1625 hours. I saw a male, later identified as Kevyn Weintraub (DOB: 03/01/1976) was laying on the ground as he was being restrained and detained in handcuffs by Officer Clift and Officer Etchason. Weintraub was in a small dirt area located south of the Bank of America. I immediately began to take digital photographs of the scene upon my arrival. I used my PSPD issued digital camera to take several photographs of Weintraub while he was being handcuffed and while Officer Etchason was in the process of placing a tourniquet on his right thigh. I was directed by Officer Carillo to take digital photographs of Officer Burton who was standing in the north/west corner of S Palm Canyon Drive and Camino Parocela. I saw Officer Burton was bleeding from his nose and mouth. Officer Burton had lacerations to his right ring and pinky fingers. Officer Burton had blood on both hands, nose, and around his mouth. Officer Burton's uniform and boots was disheveled and had dirt on the lower portion of his pants. Sergeant Cabrera directed me to accompany Officer Enriquez who was sitting in the driver seat of her patrol vehicle parked just west of the dirt area on S Palm Canyon Drive. At approximately 1645 hours, I transported Officer Enriquez to the PSPD station and sat with her in the traffic office and in the PSPD training room awaiting the Riverside County Sheriffs (RSO) investigations unit. Officer Enriquez and I did not discuss any fact of the case during our time together. 'took several digital photographs of Officer Enriquez while we waited in the traffic office. I located small abrasions on Officer Enriquez's left index finger and middle knuckle.
