June 13, 2024 City of Palm Springs City Council / City Hall 3200 E. Tahquitz Canyon Way Palm Springs, CA. 92262 Attn: Clerk of the Board Re: Written letter to be entered in the Public record and made available for public Inspection for the June 13, 2024 (5:30PM) - Agenda Item: 1.G (Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act) Dear current City Council members, This letter is in opposition of the Palm Springs City Council willingness to subvert their residents with political maneuvers. Palm Springs City Council shouldn't be providing a City Council Resolution in opposition of the "Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act" (Initiative No. 21-0042A1) ballot measure set for November 5, 2024. It's crystal clear that the current City Council is acting alone in an attempt to gain increased political power over the very people that support them (taxpayer's). It's reasonable to consider that the current Palm Springs City Council is an active member of the League of California Cities that have great influence over many California political representatives. The current five (5) members of the Palm Springs City Council are NOT speaking for its population in regards to this VERY POOR decision to advance a Resolution of opposition to a much needed safeguard against an ever growing (Out of Control) government representatives. Please disregard your attempt to subvert your City Residents with grand hopes to continue with BAD governance while enriching yourselves and your supporters (special Interests).
