Resident-Initiated Traffic Calming ProcessENGINEERINGSERVICES•Resident submits a traffic related concern viaphone call, email, letter, or in person•Staff reviews traffic calming program withresident and directs to fill out a communityaction request form (CARF).•Once a filled out CARF is received by Staff, afield study is conducted, and traffic datacollected for review and warrant analysis.Establish working group and group leader forthe community.Item 3A - Page 3

Resident-Initiated Traffic Calming ProcessENGINEERINGSERVICESApproval Process/Criteria:•1stmeeting set up to review warrants. •Approval Letters sent out. •2ndMeeting set up to review approved locations and go over pending study zone survey. •Survey period is left open for 30-45 days. •3rdmeeting set up to review survey results. If 67% of ballots are in favor, project moves forward to City Council for approval. Item 3A - Page 5

Pedestrian Master PlanENGINEERINGSERVICES•$1,500,000 budgeted each year.•Out of 75 individual recommendations, 44 actions items have been closed out.•Often incorporated into capital improvement projects, work orders, or coordination with Police Department Enforcement. Item 3A - Page 9
Pedestrian Master PlanENGINEERINGSERVICESRacquet Club Road ReconfigurationSouth Palm Canyon Reconfiguration•Both involve evaluation and implementation of pedestrian, bicyclist, and vehicle safety. •Both involve vehicle travel lane reduction to make way for bike lanes, saving on-street parking where safe to do so. •Both will involve the community and other stake holders input and support to move forward.Item 3A - Page 10

Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP)ENGINEERINGSERVICESThese projects involved upgrades to traffic signal equipment, technology, and pedestrian crossings in order to reduce vehicle/pedestrian/ bicyclist accidents. •HSIP Cycle 7 includes 17 signalized locations – Construction Completed•HSIP Cycle 8 includes 14 signalized locations – Construction In Progress•HSIP Cycle 9 includes 9 signalized locations – Out to Bid by early May. •HSIP Cycle 11 includes 9 signalized locations – Design in ProgressItem 3A - Page 13
