570 Oleander
Palm Springs California
Hello,
I would like to see if you could forward this to the council member who represents this district
and ask them to drive by and take a look at it.
I have called code compliance twice and left a voice message in the past, but it seems as if
nothing's been done. This is a fire hazard, a nuisance and it is unsightly
I appreciate anything that can be done to have someone look into this matter.
Thank you
Rick

I encourage the City Council to adopt a subsequent emergency resolution, similar to Resolution No 25147, adopted
October 10, 2023, which mirrors Governor Newsom's and President Biden's call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza
as part of a deal to secure desperately needed relief for Gazan civilians and the release of all hostages taken on
October 7. It is time the City of Palm Springs adds its voice and support for the human rights of all individuals in the
region - both Israelis and Palestinians - and asks all combatants and the US Government to work in earnest towards
an enduring peace that provides lasting security, autonomy, and freedom that the Palestinians and Israeli people
both deserve. As the war passes its sixth month, Palm Springs should join the more than 30 California cities, like
Richmond and Oakland, which call for a ceasefire in light of the evolving humanitarian crisis in Gaza and recent
military actions like the terrible attack on WCK relief vehicles. Thank you.
Thank you,
City of Palm Springs

Hi Ron-
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my strong stance against
supporting Chick-fil-A in Palm Springs due to their anti-LGBTQ stance. It is crucial for us, as
members of this community, to stand firmly against discrimination in all its forms.
Chick-fil-A has a well-documented history of supporting organizations and initiatives that
promote anti-LGBTQ sentiments. While they may claim to operate under certain religious
beliefs, it is unacceptable for any establishment to endorse discrimination or contribute to the
marginalization of any group within our society.
As residents of Palm Springs, a diverse and inclusive community, it is incumbent upon us to
support businesses that align with our values of equality, respect, and acceptance for all
individuals, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Therefore, I urge you to vote against any application for Chic Fil A that comes before council.
Together, we can send a powerful message that discrimination has no place in our community.
Thank you for considering this matter, and I appreciate your solidarity in standing against
discrimination.
Warm regards,
TM DiLeva

Dear City Leaders,
I strongly object to having this chain restaurant in our city. I am
concerned about the flow of traffic in that area and what a disaster this
addition would bring to the traffic on Gene Autry and in the shopping
center’s parking lot. I am also concerned about the poor quality and the
health issues the food they serve brings. Recently ONE-PS was toying
with the idea of creating Palm Springs as a Blue Zone, approving such
an establishment of extremely unhealthy food is incongruent with the
principals of Blue Zones. But mostly I am concerned with the values of
this corporation and their strong anti-LGBTQ philosophies. It would be
extremely disappointing if you, the leaders of the city of Palm Springs,
were to approve such a hate-filled business to move into our city. I have
always been proud to live in Palm Springs over the past 20 years because
of our forward-thinking and progressive city leaders. We are a
community of diversity and acceptance that is not found in many places.
People travel here world-wide because we are such a welcoming town
for those of us who are not welcomed in very many places. If the city

leaders approve this hateful anti-LGBTQ corporation to be located in our
city, it sends a huge message to the citizens of Palm Springs, and to the
many visitors who travel here, that we are no longer the diverse,
LGBTQ-friendly community that we once were.

Were there other noise complaints about event Sunday?

I’m not certain who you spoke with at “the office”; but City Council
members do not do enforcement work.
I suspect however that the event you are referencing is the White
Party. It has been held in Palm Springs each year for decades. The
event does include music that I would describe as loud, but that
others find appropriate. It also includes permitted fireworks.
The Council had multiple hotly debated discussions regarding
fireworks a few years. Ultimately a Council majority (that I was not
a part of) gave authority for a broad number of fireworks events
during the year. I was in a minority that would have limited
fireworks in Palm Springs to a small number of events including 4th
of July, Veterans day and a couple of others.
That said, we work with the promoters of large live events to manage
music volumes. I encourage you to direct your concerns to
Brenda.pree@palmspringsca.gov. She is the City Clerk and ask her
to share your concerns with City Council and the City Manager.
She can share your emails. I cannot.

Hi Lisa,
> I called into the office yesterday and was directed to you for questions and answers.
>
> On Sunday, there was an extremely loud music concert near the convention center
that was shaking my ceiling and walls late into the evening. Then to top it off, there was
a fireworks show at 10 pm. My dog was triggered by the loud sounds and kept me
awake until 2 am until she calmed down.

> Few questions:
> 1. Was there a notice sent out regarding fireworks to expected at 10pm Sunday
night?
> 2. Who approved a Sunday fireworks show and blaring music to 10pm on Sunday
night?
> 3. For future Sunday night events, can you set the noise ordinance to 8pm?

Mr Mayor and Council Members,
After vacationing out here for many years, my husband and I decided to move to
Palm Springs, as full-time residents, two years ago. Aside from the magnificent
landscape, what attracted us was the feeling of community - where strangers say
“Good morning”, a place where people of all ethnicities, religions, skin colors,
and sexual make-ups are embraced and live in harmony, regardless of what’s
going on in the screwed up world around us.
I have heard that Chick-fil-a, the chain owned by a LOUD, vocal opponent of all
the things that make Palm Springs special, wants to open a location on Ramon
and Gene Autry. I feel that the owner of Chick-fil-a is no one who deserves to set
foot in our cohesive community, and his restaurant can only cause us trouble and
much angst. I urge all members of the planning commission and the city council
to reject this Chick-fil-a proposal. It doesn’t fit into our society, nor does it
belong within our boundaries.
Thank you,
Mimi and Barry Katz

My wife and I have been visiting Palm Springs for over a decade and lived there
during the height of COVID and formed long lasting community there. We both
work with the L Fund and I have hosted classes at The LGBTQ Center.
We cannot imagine a world where a company like Chick Fil A, with its horrific
record on anti LGBTQ rights and anti women’s rights record, could have any
place in Palm Springs. Please do all you can to stop this from happening and
know that the city and the whole country is watching.
