Page 2 of 5 •New program •Local rehabilitation center reported 75% of their population exited treatment due to lack of funds, or insurance. •City Staff encounters 1-2 homeless individuals weekly who would go to rehabilitation if they could afford it. •Only a few rehabilitation centers accept MediCal. •Estimating 8 Re-entry Clients per year. •Estimated cost of $5,000 each. •Estimated Annual program cost $40,000 Page 3 of 5 •New Program •Makes Narcan and other harm reduction items more readily available in vending machines. •The vending machines could also provide information to connect individuals to low barrier assistance. •Avoids stigma of requesting assistance for substance misuse •Estimating cost of vending machine (refrigerated) $15,000. •Two of vending machines estimated (emergency rooms, homeless service providers) •Estimated Annual program cost $30,000 Page 4 of 5 •Becomes part of existing TBRA program •Assists individuals in need undergoing rehabilitation. •Provides supportive environment and reduces chances of relapse. •Estimating 18 TBRA clients that utilize the Opioid Settlement funds per year. •Estimated cost of $8,000 each. •Estimated Annual program cost $144,000 Page 5 of 5
