Jewish Family Service of the Desert (JFS) has worked closely with Housing Services Administrator Ariel Tolefree-
Williams to offer financial support for several Palm Springs residents utilizing the City's rental assistance funds,
greatly reducing the possibility of these households becoming unhoused. Further, the collaboration has also offered
financial assistance for issues such as overdue utilities, preventing service interruptions that could easily become
dangerous. JFS applauds the City's efforts to improve the lives of ALL their residents, especially those who may be
precariously housed or dealing with financial need. And, let's not forget about the mental health benefit provided by
the City for those residents who know they can count on the City to offer much-needed support. I strongly urge
Palm Springs City Council members to consider adding funds to the program to allow for its continued support of
City residents that helps further distinguish the City of Palm Springs.

Ariel Williams and the work she has been doing for the residents of Palm Springs has been an amazing assistance for
the residents in the City of Palm Springs. Honestly it would be great and help wonders if other cities would assist in
the same manner, The TBRA Program has helped and given hope to many families in the city of Palm Springs,
especially in the holiday season. I have referred many households to The City of Palm Springs/TBRA program and
they all called back to say how appreciative they are. This program is helping prevent additional households/families
of becoming homeless and or keeping their lights on. This need of assistance is much appreciated and still needed

Hope you are having a great day.
My name is Christie Rivera and I am the Outreach Coordinator at Lift to
Rise. In the past, Lift to Rise, through state and federal funding, was able
to help valley residents with rent and utilities. Unfortunately, our program
came to an end. But the need was/is still there. I was glad to hear that
Palm Springs had started the TBRA Program to help the City's residents.
Recently, I had the opportunity to discuss with Ariel the TBRA Program and
the importance it is to the residents of Palm Springs. Since the inception
of the program, September 27th, we have referred 25
residents/households to the program. It has been a great help in relieving
the rent burden. My hope is that the other cities in the valley see the same
value in the program as Palm Springs did and use it to provide assistance
to their own residents.

I continue to be disappointed in Palm Springs for not removing the statue of Marilyn Monroe. I have seen many a
scene of a father with presumably his son, taking a picture up the skirt of the statue and laughing away while the
memory of a woman who was abused by the Hollywood system and now continues to be objectified and treated
like a sexual toy, in public in Palm Springs insults not only her memory, but the dignity of all women. Palm Springs
you are better than this! Take that statue away! Stop promoting sexual abuse and misogyny in a public space, in a
town where everyone is supposed to be respected! for how they present themselves, not mocked or misused.
