for the December 14, 2023 (5:30PM) - Agenda Items listed below and outlined in the subject
line of this email.
Dear current City Council members,
Please consider the statements listed below prior to the consideration of each agenda Items as
listed on the December 14, 2023 Palm Springs City Council meeting agenda. Agenda Items:
1-A, 1-GG and 3-D
1)Agenda Item: 1-A (the potential unlawful actions of conducting remotely performed
meeting)
Oppose
This City Council (Palm Springs City) have been repeatedly warned of it's continued
reckless activities surrounding the continued Implementation of an expired law (Assembly Bill
361 (AB361))
As this governmental body is aware, All required "Findings" to legally comply with the
expired AB361 law has been compromised (not fullfilled).
It's reasonable to consider that elements (political representatives) of the current City Council
that aspire to higher political power have hijacked the normal and reasonable allowances
afforded by California's Brown Act to subvert the ability of the Public to completely monitor
political representatives at precived open Public meetings of the City of Palm Springs,
California.
Discontinue the blanted attack on our State's long held Brown Act safeguards that have held
our politicians (Palm Springs City officials) to standards that could be monitored by the
Public.

2)Agenda Item: 1-GG (unconventional use of City financial resources)
Oppose
Please discontinue the illusion of saving ratepayers money, the Increased RISK's to Palm
Springs Residents if City Council members allow for another financial scheme to stabilize the
Desert Community Energy Commission (DCE) is reckless and potentially irresponsible.
DCE Board of Directors is constructed with ONLY two (2) unelected members. One (1) Palm
Springs City Council member and one (1) City of Palm Desert employee. This apparent
dictatorship is similar to a private sector business with very little oversight over a precived
public sector organization.
It's been demonstrated that the DCE has increased City Residents energy costs with out
"Saving the Planet". Consider the abandonment of the DCE operations along with the
Coachella Valley Association of Government (CVAG) involvement.
3)Agenda Item: 3-D (teleconferencing of City official business)
Oppose
Please consider the ONLY sensible approach to open and transparent governance. Return
to the "traditional" use of California's long established Brown Act safeguards.
California Residents have been under attack with restrictions on their Free speech and right's
to monitor our local governmental agencies. The narrative of "Social Distancing" thats been
grossly missused by Palm Springs City government has been debunked and discredited.
California's new law (AB2449) have continued to allow politicians to corrupt California's
established Brown Act safeguards under false pretenses. It's been repeatedly demonstrated
that political representatives (Palm Springs City Council members) need to be monitored.
Sincerely,
