Well, If it wasn’t for this program, I would be the another number for the city to add to their homeless list. I was 4 days from my court date and my friend saw the ad for the program on Nextdoor. I sent an email to her and on Tuesday I was able to talk to her on the phone. Let me just say this, Ariel was so reassuring and was so so so nice and understanding and I could tell that she was there to help. She even was able to make arrangements for this wonderful program to not only pay for past utilities, but the back rent and court cost. I still have to go to court, but I had something to give to the court to show that I was able to pay and not have to be evicted or move. If the City of Palm Springs didn’t have this program, I know id be sitting outside somewhere and have lost everything I owned. PLEASE, do not take away this program that can help others like it helped me. I know this has helped me soooo much and words can’t express my thanks and gratitude for the help. A HUGE thank you to the city of Palm Springs and the program. Mark 11/9/2023 Public Comment Non-Agenda From:Tanya J. Good morning, Brent, my name is Tanya Figueroa, and I am a recipient of rental assistance. I wanted to reach out because I was recently faced with an EXCEEDINGLY difficult situation. I reached out to Ariel regarding the program and eligibility requirements. Ariel responded extremely timely and gave me all the resources that I needed to apply for assistance. Ariel was able to turn my application around within days and got me approved for rental assistance. I am going to be honest, I have NEVER in my life had an application process that fast, she was extremely prompt, efficient, and very professional and courteous. I am extremely grateful for her assistance in such a challenging time, and I cannot thank her enough. On behalf of myself and my family, I want to extend my gratitude to the City of Palm Springs, and all its representatives for providing relief during these trying times. I especially want to thank Ariel for her prompt responses to my needs and her diligence in attending to pressing matters. Again, thank you all for this wonderful opportunity of relief. Brent, I just wanted to take a moment of your time and let you know that the program that Ariel is overseeing has been extremly beneficial to a few of my current resident. A breast cancer survivor who just underwent a double macectetomy, a family with a new baby who decided to surprise her parents with a new arrival, as well as a single woman who had lost her job, and was just offered a union position. All of these residents were about to be sent to my legal department for non payment this week. In additional to my current residents, we had two individuals that were homeless living in hotels, able to obtain freedom from the streets and the abil;ity to call 29hundred Apartments their home. Thank you for all that you do for the Palm Springs Community Best Regards, <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]--> Ruth Muwwakkil | Assitant Manager assistant@29hundred.com 29-Hundred Apartments, Palm Springs CA O: (855) 694-0675 This e-mail message and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom it is addressed. Good Morning Mr. Rasi, Proverbs 19:17Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. My name is Latrisha L. Powe and I am a recipient of the City of Palm Springs Rental & Utility Assistance Program. My 8 year-old-son and I needed to relocate back to CA for personal and safety reasons and I was told about this program through the apartment manager at the home I'm now in, thanks to the rental assistance program. I am a disabled veteran and single mom so my income is considered to be of low income here in CA. I thank the Lord for this program because I thought that my son and I would have to be in motels until we found housing and/or received assistance from the VA. That being said, the Lord had better plans for my son and I . Mrs. Ariel Tolefree-Williams has been a blessing . Ariel's professionalism and compassion towards her clients is exemplary! I emailed her to get information on the program and to see if I qualified for assistance and Ariel replied the same day! I have worked and have been a recipient of a lot of non-profit programs in my life and some of the workers have been rude and have no compassion towards a client's situation. I understand that discernment has to be used in this agency and funds are limited, but compassion is very important. Ariel was understanding and she made sure that everything was done in a timely matter. I arrived in CA on November 3, 2023 after having a 20 hr layover, my funds were limited and I was exhausted. Ariel and my new apartment manager , Ruth Muwwakkil, worked together to get my son and I housed. My application for assistance was approved on November 6, 2023 and my apartment manager will receive funds on November 9, 2023. This is a blessing because I have never had a program like this that helped so quickly. I believe that this program should remain funded. I believe it should remain funded because it helps people with urgent needs get assistance immediately, the compassion and professionalism of the staff is beyond words, and it changes lives. I'm a strong believer in Christ and I want to say His hands are on this program, This program stands out in my opinion! The more you give to others in need the more the Lord will bless the City of Palm Springs. May you have a blessed day in the Lord! Blessings, Latrisha L. Hello Brent, my name is Michael Emard, you have recently saved my lovely hood, if I can have a moment of your time to thank you, . Moving forward, I worked for a place and hrs being cut, and knowing it was coming with new owners, ace hotel and swim club, security, the citing began in the middle of last month , a person there , about 5 years before me also lost his whole shift, so been busting the ground and too fond other job , and I will but , I would not have been able to save my apartment and would be back on the street, very dangerous for me,. SO THANK YOU, AND GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS THIS YEAR AND TO COM, THANK YOU, please let me know how I could ever help or donate , or a charity you need help in, happy holidays and thank you again, Truth, Michael Emard. 11/9/2023 Public Comment Non-Agenda From:Jeffrey Bernstein To:City Clerk Subject:Fwd: Ceasefire Date:Wednesday, November 1, 2023 9:43:12 PM Thank you! Palm Springs City Council- The world is watching the horrific genocide against the people of Gaza and all Palestinians. This genocide is being carried out by Israel with the complicity, support, arms, and money from the US. 10/26/2023 Public Comment Non Agenda We can not be silent as US bombs from US planes rain down on Palestinian children and all Palestinians. The US voted with Israel at a UN General Assembly meeting to nothave a cease fire and to not send humanitarian aid to Gaza. Thedenial of a way for the people of Gaza to escape the bombs is a warcrime, it is a crime against humanity, as is the cutting off of food, water, electricity and fuel. My vote in all upcoming elections from now on will be based who takes action on this matter. I would like to hear from each of you where you stand and how you intend to confront this obvious attempt at genocide and ethnic cleansing. I stand with organizations like Jewish Voices For Peace and If Not Now for immediate ceasefire and aid to Gaza. I stand with Palestine.
