Mayor, City Council, and City Manager
A shopkeeper in Lake Arrowhead was recently murdered for having rainbow flags in the front
of her store. The school board in Temecula banned gay books and labeled Harvey Milk a
pedofile. Palm Springs seems to be surrounded by LGBTQ+ haters.
I wrote the attached letter to introduce the idea of naming the new city park by the museum
"Harvey Milk Park". It will reaffirm the commitment to diversity that is an intrinsic part of
the Palm Springs community.

A city park in Palm Springs named “Harvey Milk Park” by Darron Dahle
In 1976 I moved to San Francisco to live in a major city on the West Coast. I was oblivious to
San Francisco politics and the political influence of the LGBTQ+ population. This changed when
I walked into a photography store on Castro Street. This photo store was owned by Harvey Milk,
a man destined to be a gay leader. If you didn’t see it at first, you soon would.
District elections began in San Francisco and Harvey Milk ran for city council. He would ring my
doorbell asking for my vote. I supported him from the beginning, he represented my interests.
In the 1970’s LGBTQ+ people had to fight against Briggs, Bryant, and bigots of all sorts. We
came out of the closets; we stepped off the sidewalks and marched up San Francisco’s Market
Street. We dreamed of a day of equality, and we wouldn’t take no for an answer. Harvey Milk
was our gay leader. He was fearless, and he didn’t stop. Harvey inspired us to fight for our
rights. Harvey Milk was elected to the Board of Supervisors and was in office less than a year
when he was assassinated. He and Mayor Moscone were killed on November 27, 1978, by Dan
White. I heard about Harvey and Mayor Moscone being killed on the radio. Diane Feinstein
made the announcement. It was a very sad time.
Today, there is backlash against the LGBTQ+ community. I am reminded of the years of Harvey
Milk and the ‘70’s. We are the target of so much hate. Banning drag shows and transexual
health care is convenient for too many politicians. School boards, governors, and state
legislatures have joined in to set back the gains we’ve made in the last half century. In Lake
Arrowhead, an ally to our community was murdered because of the victim’s rainbow flags and
the murderer’s hate of the LGBTQ+ community.
Palm Springs has a very diverse population. It is something which we can be proud of. We
have streets to honor actors, developers, founders of Palm Springs, and civil rights leaders. The
LGBTQ+ community of Palm Springs has made many contributions to Palm Springs. Portland,
San Diego, and Salt Lake City have streets named after Harvey Milk.
I am suggesting that Palm Springs’ new park across from the museum be named to honor
Harvey Milk, the assassinated gay leader. Harvey Milk Park is an appropriate name for this new
park in Palm Springs.
Today is a time in our country when LGBTQ+ books are banned in libraries, our history is being
erased by school boards, mayors, and governors. Harvey Milk Park will be a statement for the
city of Palm Springs to step up for diversity and for LBGTQ+ people of all ages. Naming this
park for Harvey Milk will be an opportunity for future generations of LGBTQ+ people to learn
who Harvey Milk was, to remember him, and for LGBTQ+ people to be proud of who they are.

Good afternoon. I am interested in the non-working water feature at the downtown park. It was such a great
addition to the park but stopped working shortly after the park opened and, as far as I can tell, has not worked
since. What is the plan and timeline to have it operating again?
Thank you,

I’ve sent an email to the Palm Springs Mayor already with some advice on SAVING YOUR
DOCUMENTS from 2020 forward. The Palm Springs mayor and city council are being
watched very closely and investigations are currently under way. No one holding office in
Palm Springs city government will escape election fraud charges if they participated in rigging
the 2020, 2022 elections. Sheriff Matt Bianco is BELOVED in Riverside County and
NOTHING YOU DO WILL REMOVE HIM AS SHERIFF or tarnish his pristine reputation
and record. In case you’ve failed to notice, Californians are waking up and we can see exactly
what you all have been up to. You WILL NOT be re-elected for the piss-poor job you’ve done
in our city. Signed, Sheila Garcia Palm Springs California

Dear City Council and Staff,
No reply necessary.
Sadly, and importantly, the Palm Springs City Waste Water COVID & MPOX Testing is no
longer available to the public. It is no longer on the City's website. Nor is it on RHUS website,
and their staff don't know anything about the data, and after a few hours told us theyRUHS
don't believe they have it. This data provides an understanding about the amount of virus in
circulation around us in this visitor centric city. Can't it be shared with RUHS and also
continue to post it on the City's website, and reasons why not? Please see two screenshots
below.

JSmith@sunline.org,Sjurgens@sunline.org,
But these email addresses for sunline are no good since they block everything that
goes to sunline. Then here I am at stop 9:38 I've sat here for three and a half hours
waiting for a bus that was supposed to come by three times already but yet now I
got a supervisor sitting in our face showing us that the bus is going to be here to
relieve the supervisor so it takes the supervisor another 30 minutes to get in the
vessel and drive it down the road so by maybe 11:00 will be out of here or hell
actually it's now 12:30 so it'll probably be 1:00 before we actually leave out of
this location it don't don't matter they continue to fraudulently steal money from
the company by allowing the individuals to slack along. Why they have their
problems with the ridership they don't understand how to fix the problem they
continue to destroy the problem to where they will never have much ridership at
all they'll lose more riders than anything at all because of the fact that they don't
come on time you schedule a time on a Google map and you only show one vessel
that has a GPS system on it so that it can be picked up on the Google maps one
bus how incompetent is that to put one bus on the system. And what that is is your
drivers are disabling the GPS signals that are on the buses so it shows up on
Google maps to where each bus is coming down the road or where you're able to
see that there's a bus coming or if there's even a bus driving around or if they're
out playing hooky somewhere buying alcohol or marijuana while they're driving
the bus it don't make no sense that you can't keep an eye on them all your drivers
and have no way of making sure that they're at the designated stop says the map
states that you're supposed to be at a designated stop. Then I get to the number
four bus stop over here on date palm and Roman and have to sit here from 3:00
until 6:30 waiting for a bus cuz hell they can't get a bus here in between 3 hours
but yet they're scheduled every hour at this bus stop but yet they can never make
it to this bus stop on an every hour patient it's every two or three hours or
whenever they feel like making it to the bus station or actually finding the stuff.
For help for the disability bus or the special needs bus they have 10 million
drivers for those but not one driver for the bus service for the public transportation
Coachella valley. Hear people shouldn't $120° heat waiting for a bus it's supposed
to get here that doesn't get here for 2 to 3 hours because how they're on their own
schedule at 30 bucks an hour as I stated many times before there's no Indians at
work at sunline bus service they're all chiefs they own the company they dictate
what they want to do when they want to do it how they want to do it and they
make people pay Fare's when they don't have nothing. It's like it's mandatory if

you don't have the exact change they'll never let you ride the bus but yet they
never do exactly what they're supposed to do the schedule is printed for them to
be there at a specific time and they can't do that because they got 4 billion dollars.
This is what happens when you give government money to companies that are
public transportation that only is there to steal the money. Hell next year they'll
ask for a hundred billion dollars just to pay their physical budget because they
have no ridership because how they haven't done anything in a year. But this is
the glorious bus service that you would want for Coachella valley the one that
can't even drive down the street to pick up anybody because hell they want to
worry about how bad they smell because they've been sitting in the sun for five
f****** hours waiting for some bus driver to come they want to worry about their
smell makes no sense you're a bus driver for public transportation keep your nose
in your own pocket and not worry about what other people are doing and drive the
bus but y'all can't you have more attitude to not drive the bus then you do
anything else on the bus how you want to point out people leaving a piece of
paper on the side of the road long before you want to drive the bus down the road
don't make no sense each and every bus is supposed to display their badge
number none of them do it because hell they don't want nobody to complain about
them but the hell they don't have a complaint line either
First thing that I noticed is it's at semi clean facility is just the problem with most
of drivers is the drivers if the drivers had a little more respect for the company and
understood that they were not the chief of the company that they were just an
Indian in the company that works with other Indians under another chief but yet
they all think they're the chief of the squad! The first thing I see is a big problem
is that how there's no time schedule that you stay upon it takes many hours for
you to travel through cathedral City Palm Springs Indio and back it takes at least
5 to 6 hours because hell most of the buses are scheduled to be there and they
never show up and then the next bus takes over for it which always leaves a
deeper gas in the system you're asking for people to be a Riderbut yet you give no
respect to the Rider's and then you then you talk about how you need to increase
the ridership well I'd say driving down the road and seeing somebody walking
down the street would be a good start because you could pick them all up and give
them a free ride so that later down the road they'll be sitting at the bus stop
waiting for you to come by in the bus but you don't want it ridership you only
want to take money you've taken 4 billion dollars from the United States
government on two bailout from Donald Trump and Joe Biden send line transit
system is all the way across the state of California. As well as there's metropolitan
Transit authority the only two companies in the state of California Donald Trump
gave 48.5 billion dollars to public transportation at the end of his presidency than
Joe Biden gave some more another 50 billion dollars to the public transportation
in the state of California being the largest state of the three states that are large
California Texas and Florida three largest states so you figure at least 2.5 billion
dollars went to each one of those States because they have a higher congestion of
people riding public transportation. Now this split up between metropolitan
Transit authority as well as sunline Transit authority being the only two
companies in the state they should have a better ability to get the services done
but yet it seems like the money that we're giving them keeps going to an empty

pocket! Every time I've ever called her the same lady picks up the phone what's
the same lousy disrespectful service they've never hired anybody else and they
certainly can't get the vehicles on time how they skip times and there's a drivers
that will actually state that there's something wrong with the vehicle so they won't
drive and pick up anybody along the route which makes no sense they're making
30 bucks an hour to sit there and drive up and down the street with nobody on the
bus because hell they don't want to catch a disease! And I ran into this problem
many of times all the way up to Ross Rubio's in San Francisco as well as down
into San Diego on the bus line! I'd have to say it's not the most respected service
out there for it only takes 3 to 5 hours to get around anywhere in cathedral City!
So giving the government bailouts to the public transportation services was really
a mishap because hell we really didn't need to lose all that money for nothing!
Then heading to OTC on Palm Canyon the ride cost Three Fares and on the way
back from the junction Spot at B Street @ Buddy Rogers it was to leave at 3:35
but at 3:50 were still waiting for the Driver to leave the Restroom! No wonder
they have problems with the Route!!! Then I purchase a 10 ride bus pass to ride
the pass for maybe half a month or so and you have to use it all up in one day
because of the fact that there is no 15 minutes in between each bus there is no bus
that runs in cathedral City or Coachella valley on a 15 minute schedule but yet
you give every transfer of 15 minute waiting time there's no way you can catch it
bust in a 15 minute window when you can't even run a bus within every three or
four hours. So selling a bus pass for 10 right should be at least one ride a day at
least for 10 days. Not for each and every Fair! Did I get on to Bob Hope and
Monterey and there's a lady getting on the bus at Eisenhower general hospital that
commands the bus to do all this other stuff well in the end they threw her off the
bus and continued down the road but I had to get off because hell I wasn't going
to sit there for 20 minutes while they figured out what they were going to do with
this hostile person getting on the bus because hell it was already 20 minutes past
due for work I was supposed to be at but yet help down here drivers can actually
do the job because they all want to be a chief long before they want to be in
Indian and drive the bus. Didn't I make it up here to Frank Sinatra boulevard to
find out how there ain't no bus pickup between Frank Sinatra and Gerald Ford
some 5 mi in between the two there's no bus stop at all but yet there's a bus stop
everywhere else in the county why'd you miss that 5 MI? On most days I want to
use the bus service it's just the fact that the bus service is caused so much
problems in this county and throughout the state of California for sunline doesn't
just run through Coachella valley they run all the way up to PCH into San
Francisco and eureka so it's not just a little company they're a major part of this
county as well as the state but yet they don't operate like they want to have any
interest in saving their company they only interest they want to do is still their
pocket up as long as they got the 4 billion dollars in their pocket and they can go
and ask for another $4 billion dollars from the government because they can't get
no ridership because how they learn how to give any respect to anyone that does
ride their buses! Then when I want to make a complaint for the company I have to
go through all these steps until this one thing how to it ask for the route number
the bus number the badge number all this stuff but yet there's no words you can
put it into the information because hell you can't get the service to work at all over
there but yet you can get up to the part of entering the information in but the tabs
that you have already prefilled on there won't do anything because they're pre-
filled to do nothing so you never get a complaint you can never get anything sent

To All ,
I am not surprised about this building permit fiasco .
City council needs to pay "more " attention to city services Such as simple thing as getting a building permit . I
have notice that city councils pays too much attention to Social issues .
Yes, we are waiting for a building permit for a carport replacement at 2701 E Mesquite Ave .

Reading Mr. Smith’s explanation of how his design expresses the experience of those involved in and affected by the
HIV/AIDS phenomenon leads me and many others to think that, perhaps, if he needs to expound at length to explain
the literal “meaning” of all the symbolic elements of his work, as an artist, he has missed the mark by a mile. If he is
trying to convey unity, perhaps rather than a “doughnut hole”, he might try the metaphor of the Mandala which,
also being circular, holds and contains all the elements and experiences of this life while pulling them to the spiritual
and unifying center. THAT’S WHAT CLIVE DAVIS’ AIDS QUILT AND MAYA LIN’S VIETNAM MEMORIAL ACCOMPLISHED.
You don’t need to be told what they mean and therefore what to feel. It hits you and goes deep the instant you see
them. Much of the LGBTQQI community, which represents a major constituency here, doesn't feel that this current
design speaks to them or their experience during the HIV/AIDS phenomenon.
Thank you,
City of Palm Springs

The proposed military equipment upgrades for the police department are nothing short of a gateway to Orwellian
hell and are a mistake. Drones, robots, license plate readers- these are all small concessions that will lead to bigger
restrictions of our freedoms as a city in the years and decades ahead. Instead, the city should spend the money
hiring/training more officers, and enforcing the laws against criminals who already run rampant. And petitioning for
repeat offenders to not be set free. As a community we need to stand up for our rights and our privacy before we
blink and they are gone.
Thank you,

Instead of buying expensive weapons of war, and contributing to the fall of free society, the city should be focusing
on resolving actual issues. Housing, jobs, safety. If we as a community can come together, we can show those who
want to start trouble that we do to stand for that. Stop releasing criminals back into the streets and make it hurt to
get caught by enforcing severe punishments.
