NOTE: The items listed below are from the previous correction list. These
remaining items have not been adequately addressed. The numbers of the items
are from the previous check list and may not n ecessarily be in sequence.The
notes in bold font are current.
PLANS
1.Please make all corrections and submit THREE new complete sets of prints,to
the Palm Springs building department . Please note: Before correcting the
plans, you should wait until you’ve received comments from other city
departments (Fire, Planning, etc.).
2.Prior to resubmittal please contact and coordinate with the city. The
current permit is for a remodel and addition. The permit should include
legalization of unpermitted constructio n. Please do not resubmit any plans
until this issue has been addressed and documentation can be provided
for verification. After this process has taken place please review plans and
make the necessary adjustments to coordinate intent.
3.The next set of plans shall include sheets with existing conditions as they
are currently. These sheets shall not have any proposed work, or
structures or items that are not in place. They shall show foundation, walls
with type, roofing, and any structural, electrical, mech anical, plumbing
pertinent to this project (as is). Dimensions and design features shall also
be provided.NOTE: Additional corrections may result.
FIRE PROTECTION
5.An automatic residential fire sprinkler system shall be installed in one-and
two-family dwellings (not required for additions if the existing dwelling doesn’t
already have a sprinkler system). Please clearly note this on the plans. Section
R313.2.Palm springs does not allow deferred elements.
6.In dwelling units within which fuel-burning appliances are installed (and in
dwelling units having attached garages), show the locations of permanently wired
carbon monoxide alarms with battery backup, per Section R315:Change CO2
to CO and please change sheet E -3 to E-1
ROOFS/DECKS/BALCONIES
7.Specify on the plans the following information for the roof materials, per Section
R106.1.1:Please address all
a.Manufacturer’s name and product name/number.
b.ICC approval number, or equal.
9.Roof plan shows hips and ridges, but the framing plan shows flat roof joists.
Please detail how slope and ridges will be accomplished.

FOUNDATION REQUIREMENTS
12.Please review foundation and framing plan. There are several shearwalls shown
on both that do not have footings as required.Section R403.Please check
again.
STRUCTURAL
15.Specify nail size and spacing for the floor and roof diaphragms on the plans.
Table R602.3(1). Specify plywood and/or particle board thickness, grade and
panel span rating. Table R503.2.1(1)
MECHANICAL
19.Specify on the plans the following information for the fireplace(s):Please
provide specific model to be used as not all are allowed.
a.Manufacturer’s name/model number and ICC approval number, or equal.
ELECTRICAL
20.Please check the outlet distances in the bedroom s. No point on the floor should
be 6’ from an outlet.
MISCELLANEOUS
33.Please be advised that due to the disparity between the scope of work and the
plans additional corrections may be found to apply after revision.
34.To speed up the review process, note on this list (or a copy) where each
correction item has been addressed, i.e., plan sheet, note or detail number,
calculation page, etc.
Please indicate here if any changes have been made to the plans that are not a
result of corrections from this list. If there are other changes, please briefly
describe them and where they are located in the plans.
