NOTE: The items listed below are from the previous correction list. These
remaining items have not been adequately addressed. The numbers of the items
are from the previous check list and may not necessarily be in sequence.The
notes in bold font are current.
PLANS
1.Please make all corrections and submit THREE new complete sets of prints,to
the Palm Springs building department. Please note: Before correcting the
plans, you should wait until you’ve received comments from other city
departments (Fire, Planning, etc.).
2.All sheets of plans must be signed by the person responsible for their
preparation.(California Business and Professions Code).Will reverify designer
sigs on next set, please have architect stamp and sign framing and
foundation plan.
a.Plans deviating from conventional wood frame construction shall have
the structural portions signed and s ealed by the California state
licensed engineer or architect responsible for their preparation, along
with structural calculations. (California Business and Professions
Code).
3.Indicate on the Title Sheet of the plans the name of the legal owner and name o f
the person responsible for the preparation of the plans. Section R106.1.1.
Owner information is blank. Please clarify designer information.Owner
information is still blank on this set.
FOUNDATION REQUIREMENTS
15.Foundation details are referenced to she et SD.1, which was not included. The
details appear on A.2.One of the details called out on A.2. still references
SD.1.
Also foundation plan/foundation details do not appear to match
calculations provided. Please clarify and coordinate the plans to matc h the
calculations.
a.Is there a slab on grade?
b.Calculations show several different grade beams of varying siz es and
reinforcement,while the plans show a perimeter footing with a 4 in.
slab.Can you please expand on the grade beam calculations, for
example, grade beam A-A. You are calculating an overturning moment
here I see, where did the 3072 lbs and 3.8ft moment arm come from?
Also when calculating an overturning moment you do not account for
the self-weight of the concrete. Are these grade beams necessa ry? If so
please incorporate them in the plans.
c.Please note, unless anticipating unsatisfactory soil conditions, the slab
and exterior footing shown on the plans would be satisfactory.

STRUCTURAL
16.Provided calculations were from a different job. Please provide site specific
design calculations.Please clarify the following concerns:
a.Per note about roof, roof is flat. RR-1, both design calculations provided
for RR-1 use a sloped roof. Please revise calcs to reflect flat roof
condition as well 5’ overhang .
b.Please expand on the loading conditi ons you came up with for HIP-1.
c.Please have architect stamp and sign calculations, as well as
foundation and framing plan.
17.Please review wall bracing. With no calculations, the lateral design must
conform to CRC section 602.10. See wall spacing, minimum lengths, location of
panels. Or provide design calculations.The plans do not match the
calculations provided.Please address the following:
a.Callout locations, lengths,materials, and nailing schedule of all the
shearwalls accounted for in the calculations, on the plans.
b.Please provide shear transfer details at appropriate locations with
connection hardware called out.
19.The plans shall indicate that special inspection will be provided for the following
work. (CBC Chapter 17 and Section 107.2)
a)Periodic special inspection should be provided for anchors installed in
hardened concrete. Section 1705.3.No response.
22.Please complete framing plans. There is much empty space and many
members are not identified.Please clarify the following concerns:
a.TJI callout for RR-1 on the plans in eligible, please revise.
b.Beam C is called out on the section A leader line on the framing plan,
please revise to correct location.
c.If applicable (no slab), provide floor framing plan.
d.No details provided, please call out appropriate connection details for
bearing walls, beams, headers, etc…
PLUMBING
27.Specify on the plans whether the existing house was built before or after 1994.
For additions or improvements to a residence built before 1994, note on the
plans that existing “noncompliant” fixtures (toilets that use more than 1.6 gallons
of water per flush, urinals that use more than one gallon of water per flush,
showerheads that have a flow capacity of more than 2.5 gallons of water per
minute, and interior faucets that emit more than 2.2 gallons of water per minute)
shall be replaced. Certification of compliance shall be given to the building
inspector prior to final permit approval. California SB407.Could not locate this
note.

ENERGY CONSERVATION
A)A new T24 was not provided with the new set. T24 on from previous set
lists the wrong address and the total sq. footage does not match this job. It
is also not registered with the proper authority. Please provide an updated
T24 that matches these plans and is HERS registered.When replacing or
modifying the mechanical system:
a.If more than 40’ of new ductwork is installed in unconditioned space, HERS
inspection is required for both existing and new duct sealing.
b.Replacement of mechanical equipment (air handler, condensing unit of an
air conditioner or heat pump, cooling or heating coil, or the furnace heat
exchanger) requires HERS inspection.
B)Include on the Title Sheet of the plans the following statement:
“Compliance with the documentation requir ements of the 2016 Energy
Efficiency Standards is necessary for this project. Registered, signed, and
dated copies of the appropriate CF1R, CF2R, and CF3R forms shall be
made available at necessary intervals for Building Inspector review. Final
completed forms will be available for the building owner.”
C)Prior to the initial plan submittal the energy design was required to be
registered with the appropriate HERS provider data registry. Prior to the
next plan review, please register the energy design and resu bmit plans
with completed forms (registration number).
D)A complete energy plan check will be performed after completed and/or the
corrected energy design has been provided.
MISCELLANEOUS
To speed up the review process, note on this list (or a copy) where each
correction item has been addressed, i.e., plan sheet, note or detail number,
calculation page, etc.
