City Council officials,
I hereby recommend your ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the City and the Palm Springs
Public Library Foundation at tonight’s meeting.
Ratification will further our efforts to raise community funding for the library renovation project and will signal the
beginning of what is sure to be a successful campaign to create a first rate public library for the city of Palm Springs.
Thank You!

With regard to Consent Item 1D to authorize the City of Palm Springs to enter into a Memorandum of
Understanding Agreement with the Palm Springs Public Library Foundation, I wish to extend my gratitude for the
City's continued support of the Foundation. As a member of the Foundation Board, I am looking forward to the
opportunities the next phase provides for the library, the Foundation and the people of Palm Springs. We are
already seeing early support and remain confident that the Foundation will play a key role in raising the funds
necessary to help make the Palm Springs Library a state-of-the-art destination point; something the City and its
citizens so richly deserve. With your support in finalizing the MOU, the Foundation can begin its important work in
earnest.
Thank you,
City of Palm Springs
