Pay into the public arts fund•The Applicants have elected to provide the artworkDEVELOPMENTSERVICES Public Arts CommissionDenied the proposed application due to the following findings:•Majority of funding for foundation work/wind turbine restoration; questioned whether this was allowed use of funds•Only $20,000 allocated for artists’ honorarium out of overall $575,000 project cost•No information about artists or sketches of proposed work•Location and accessibility of the artworkDEVELOPMENTSERVICES Public Art ProjectConsiderations•Project for which public arts funds were required is unique (battery storage facility)•The proposed artwork is thematically consistent with proposed project•The windmill blades may be considered sculptural works•Ordinance allows for works of cultural significanceDEVELOPMENTSERVICES Waiver Requests1. Project location: Allow artwork on a parcel separate from development parcel2.
